All about Heather

I spent almost forty years of my career as Manager of high street travel agencies in Yeovil, and fifteen of those in Miles Morgan Travel. However, in March 2023 I retired from this role to work part-time. I planned to retire entirely but couldn’t stay away; I missed my fantastic customers and colleagues too much! There’s no greater feeling than sending people on unforgettable holidays, and hearing about their happy memories on return. My passion for my role as a Travel Specialist is as strong today as it was forty years ago when I entered the industry.

Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities to visit amazing destinations across the globe. One highlight would have to be Mauritius. Those long stretches of powder-soft sand and exquisite, clear waters really can’t be topped. It’s such a beautiful island, with a range of stunning hotels, too. The cuisine is delicious – lots of fish! I really couldn’t think of anywhere better for a special occasion, or for a luxurious getaway.

For an entirely different experience, China is another favourite of mine. I feel so lucky to have been to this truly inspiring country. It has so much to offer: I visited the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and Shanghai, which is an incredibly diverse city. I also ventured off the beaten track into small rural villages, to meet the communities whose families have farmed for generations, and to experience the true culture that underpins the country’s history. It was an absolutely amazing experience and left a lasting impression on me.

Australia and America are also high on my list. However, on my own holidays I love spending time closer to home these days, exploring the fantastic European destinations on our doorstep. I’ve enjoyed the resorts of Dalyan and Kalkan in Turkey, less tourist-centric than many of Turkey’s more popular areas, so the experience felt, to me, more authentic and traditionally Turkish. I also adore the beautiful Greek Islands, and Portugal’s Algarve too.

Cruising is a fabulous way to travel, and one that I’ve really enjoyed both experiencing myself and booking for my customers in recent years. Whether it’s a short European river cruise or a once-in-a-lifetime ocean voyage, I’d love to help you find the perfect cruise for you.
