All about Rebekah
Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales—a place that remains my favourite destination in the world—and grew up in a family that believed experiences were far more valuable than possessions. We didn’t have extravagant holidays when I was young; most summers involved a tent, a caravan, plenty of British weather and a collection of board games waiting out the rain on campsites across the UK. Looking back, those trips sparked my lifelong love of exploring.
My first trip abroad came in my early teens and was certainly one to remember—a six-week adventure to California. It was there that I discovered both the magic of Disney and a fascination with travel that would shape the rest of my life. Not long afterwards, my family moved to San Diego, where I attended school for two years. Living in Southern California gave me the opportunity to experience not only California itself but many of the surrounding states, creating memories and experiences that I still draw upon today.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel extensively throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. Some of my favourite destinations include California’s spectacular Pacific Coast Highway, New York City, Arizona’s dramatic landscapes, Scotland’s breathtaking Highlands, Cyprus, Malta, Tunisia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Along the way I’ve collected some incredible memories. Watching lightning split the sky above the Grand Canyon during a thunderstorm, standing almost alone at Victoria Falls, seeing Niagara Falls frozen at the edges, taking a private game drive at sunset in South Africa, camping beneath Arizona’s desert skies, snorkelling with sharks in the Red Sea, riding a camel through the Sahara, learning to surf in San Diego and watching the sun set from the top of the Burj Khalifa are just a few of the experiences that continue to inspire my passion for travel.
I have always been naturally curious and driven by a fear of missing out on life’s hidden gems. Whenever I visit somewhere new, I love researching every detail beforehand to uncover the authentic experiences, local culture and unforgettable sights that make a destination special. That same enthusiasm now goes into planning holidays for my clients.
My career in travel began in the early 2000s, inspired in part by my sister, who spent many years working in the industry. After seven wonderful years in travel, life took me in a different direction and I spent over a decade working within the care sector. Following the loss of both my parents, I took the opportunity to reflect on what truly made me happy—and the answer was easy. Travel.
Returning to the travel industry felt like coming home. There is nothing I enjoy more than helping clients turn an idea into reality, guiding them through every step of the journey and then hearing their stories when they return. In truth, I often get just as excited about their holidays as they do!
I particularly enjoy creating tailor-made itineraries, whether that’s a multi-centre African adventure, a once-in-a-lifetime road trip, or my personal favourite—a journey along California’s iconic Highway One. No two travellers are the same, and I love finding the perfect combination of destinations and experiences to create something truly memorable.
Of course, my own travel wish list continues to grow. I would love to explore the Galápagos Islands, travel throughout Southeast Asia, visit Madagascar, discover South America and the Caribbean, cruise to new destinations, and trace my family history through Scandinavia. If money were no object, my dream trip would be a “Who Do You Think You Are?” style journey following the footsteps of my ancestors around the world.
What I love most about my job is simple: people. Whether it’s the camaraderie and support of my colleagues or the excitement of seeing clients return from an incredible holiday full of stories and memories, every day brings something different. Helping people create experiences they’ll treasure forever is a privilege, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything else.
