My trip to India began with Titan’s door-to-door chauffeur service, which is included as standard on all Titan holidays. Being picked up from home and driven straight to Heathrow Airport made the start of the journey completely stress-free. The direct Virgin Atlantic flight was another lovely part of the experience.
When we arrived in Delhi, we were met by our wonderful Titan tour manager and transferred comfortably to our hotel by air-conditioned coach – something we were all very grateful for in the heat! On the journey, our tour manager pointed out important landmarks and shared fascinating information about the city. We quickly realised just how knowledgeable he was going to be throughout the trip.

At the hotel, we received a warm welcome and had some time to relax by the pool. There was also the option to enjoy a spa treatment, which many of us appreciated after the long journey.
After a great breakfast the following morning, we experienced a traditional rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi, followed by a visit to a beautiful Sikh temple. We also enjoyed a fun tuk-tuk ride before stopping for lunch.
Later that day, it was time to travel to Agra by train. One thing I really appreciated was that we didn’t need to worry about our luggage, as Titan arranged for it to be transferred separately by coach and it was waiting for us when we arrived at our next beautiful hotel. The evening was spent relaxing and enjoying the excellent facilities and food before an early night in preparation for a very special day.

The next morning started before sunrise as we set off to visit the Taj Mahal. What an incredible experience! Seeing this world-famous monument in the early morning light, before the crowds arrived, was something I will never forget. We were able to take some wonderful photographs and simply enjoy the atmosphere of this magnificent place.
After breakfast back at the hotel, we visited Agra Fort. Once again, our tour manager brought the history of the site to life with his knowledge and storytelling. No question was ever too much trouble, and I genuinely felt I learned far more about India’s history and culture than I ever could have done travelling independently.

After lunch, we travelled to Ranthambore, where excitement was building for the next stage of our adventure. On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with a beautiful decorative welcome created by the staff. Everywhere we went throughout the trip, we felt genuinely welcomed and very well looked after.

The following morning was one we had all been waiting for – our game drive in Ranthambore National Park. It was a fantastic experience. We saw a variety of wildlife and, of course, hoped to spot the famous tigers. They were difficult to see as they stayed mostly in the shade, but the excitement when we finally caught a glimpse of one was unforgettable.

The next day, we packed up and headed to Jaipur, the Pink City. The coach journey was broken up with a lovely lunch stop along the way. That evening brought one of the unexpected highlights of the trip – a cooking demonstration followed by dinner with a local family. They made us feel so welcome, shared gifts with us, and served the most delicious food. It was such a special and memorable evening.
The following day was dedicated to exploring Jaipur. We visited the City Palace, Jantar Mantar Observatory, and Amber Fort, as well as stopping for photographs at the iconic Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds. The hotel in Jaipur was outstanding, and once again the food was excellent.

The next morning was particularly special. We enjoyed a ride in a pink tuk-tuk driven entirely by women. We also witnessed Titan and Virgin Atlantic donating a brand-new pink tuk-tuk to support local women through a charity initiative, helping them become financially independent. It was a genuinely heartwarming experience and wonderful to see tourism giving something back to the local community.
Our final evening in Jaipur included entertainment at the hotel, with local dancers performing for us. Throughout the trip there seemed to be music, dancing, and celebrations wherever we went, adding to the vibrant atmosphere that makes India so unique.
Soon it was time to return to Delhi for our final night, back at our first hotel. We had some free time to relax, enjoy the spa, do a little shopping for souvenirs, or simply reflect on everything we had experienced before our flight home the next day.

I approached this trip with an open mind, but it turned out to be a true bucket-list adventure and one that I will remember forever. India is vibrant, chaotic, colourful, beautiful, exciting and endlessly fascinating. From the breathtaking Taj Mahal and the wildlife of Ranthambore to the warmth of the people we met along the way, every day brought something new and memorable.
This was far more than just a holiday - it was an unforgettable experience and truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
