I’ve been a Travel Specialist for over 40 years and have worked in Miles Morgan Travel’s Yeovil branch since the company was founded in 2006. I love my job as much now as I did when I started out; working for an independent high street agency is dynamic and hugely rewarding, and we have a great choice of tour operators to offer. The travel industry has changed dramatically over the 40 years I’ve been involved, with customers today looking to travel to a much wider range of destinations than ever before, and for many different styles of holiday too. It’s been fascinating to watch and has equipped me with a vast array of knowledge to share. I’ve spent over 20 years as a Travel Specialist in Yeovil and feel lucky to work alongside such a fantastic team.

I’m proud to be the Australia Specialist in Miles Morgan Travel’s Yeovil branch. I’ve been tailor-making itineraries for customers for many years, and my knowledge has only expanded since helping my daughter with hers when she went travelling across Australia and New Zealand in 2022, and eventually emigrated to Brisbane in 2023. Building the perfect bucket-list adventure, covering a multitude of attractions across thousands of miles, is really satisfying, and I love hearing customers’ stories on their return. If you’re interested in a trip across the globe to discover some of the finest cities, beaches and natural phenomena, it would be great to hear from you.

My own long-haul adventures have been incredibly varied, from the Canadian Rockies and Vancouver to the exquisite desert-island experience in Mauritius and the Maldives. I loved exploring the Disney Parks in Florida, and I’ve been on an unforgettable safari in Kenya, spending days watching animals in the wild, which was absolutely amazing. Canada in particular was a real highlight: it’s a wonderfully scenic country, and Vancouver is a vibrant and exciting city with the rare advantage of being both coastal and close to the mountains. I’d really recommend visiting.

Closer to home, my favourite European destination is definitely the Greek Islands. I love the relaxed way of life, the delicious food, the perfect beaches and the crystal-clear waters. Each island has its own charm, and the multitude of them means that there’s always somewhere new to visit, and something new to see. In recent years, I’ve eaten at a restaurant in Corfu that can only be reached by boat; I’ve explored Rhodes Town and learnt about its deep and interesting history; I’ve seen the infamous blue-domed, white-washed architecture of Santorini, and travelled by cable car down the cliffs; and I’ve stood on a harbour on Mykonos at night, watching an incredible firework display over the marina. I’ll always have many fond memories with my family in Greece, and I look forward to making many more.

Cruising has become another passion of mine: being somewhere different every day really appeals to me, and the variety of different cruise lines means that there’s a cruise for every taste and budget. In my own travels, particular highlights have been sailing around the Norwegian Fjords, a Mediterranean cruise whose itinerary covered fantastic Italian, Croatian and Greek ports-of-call, and a recent adventure across the Atlantic for a luxurious Caribbean cruise. It really is a fantastic way to travel, so I’d recommend it to any customers looking to try something new.
