All about Katie

My career began in finance, in Nottingham, where I built a strong foundation in foreign exchange. Working for 2 of the top 4 accounting firms in the world and through a Japanese company exporting all over Europe, I have developed a deep understanding of global currencies and market movements over the years, even prior to the Euro (Which unfortunately shows my age). I enjoy bringing clarity and confidence to clients navigating exchange rates and currencies. While my professional background is rooted in finance, my true passion has always been travel.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to explore the world extensively, visiting 77 countries across all seven continents. Travel has given me unforgettable experiences, a global perspective, and a genuine appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. From new cities to remote off-the-beaten-track destinations, each journey has added something unique and I’m always inspired by where travel can take you next, whether it is on a guided tour, a weekend away with friends or solo, self-drive or long-haul destination holidays. I own a motorhome called Hermes because he is the protector of travellers and I love to explore Europe and the UK in my van. I enjoy bridges and love to find a sculpture park, but I am always drawn back to the sea.

One of my biggest passions is scuba diving, which has taken me to some of the most breathtaking dive sites on the planet, The Great Barrier Reef - Australia, Galapagos - Ecuador, Caribbean - St Martin, Saba, St Kitts, Antigua; Roatan & Utila - Honduras, Costa Rica, Grand Cayman, Cenotes - Mexico, Egypt; Richelieu Rock, Similan & Surin islands - Thailand, Flores, Komodo & Gili isles - Indonesia, Pulau & Truk Lagoon – Micronesia and Nah Trang – Vietnam to name a few. Exploring vibrant coral reefs, encountering incredible marine life, exploring shipwrecks and diving in crystal-clear waters across the world has given me some of my most memorable experiences. There’s something truly special about discovering a completely different world beneath the surface, and it’s a passion that continues to drive my travels.

Having travelled so widely, I understand just how special and personal each trip should be, whether it’s a solo trip, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure or simply time away to create lasting memories with friends, family and loved ones.

Travel has shaped who I am, both personally and professionally and now I am in the fortunate position to work within Miles Morgan Travel in Taunton, a place I now call home.
