All about Jo

I’m proud to have worked in the travel industry for many years – it was what I was born to do. I started my career with a local independent travel agency, and I loved the flexibility to help customers with such a broad range of holidays. I’m over the moon to now work for Miles Morgan Travel, where the possibilities are endless, and every new customer delivers us a new dream to work on!

In recent years, I have discovered a wonderful passion for cruising, and am delighted to be Cruise Specialist for the Taunton branch. A holiday with multiple, varied and beautiful destinations, delicious food and drink, friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, and thrilling entertainment – I couldn’t think of a better way to travel. A true highlight for me was sailing around the rugged landscapes of Norway, and at the port of Tromso, stood on the docks gazing up at the Northern Lights! An incredible moment. I loved cruising around the Baltics too, visiting some spectacular ports, such as Bruges, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, and in particular, St. Petersburg. Cruising is a fabulous way to explore such an interesting and culturally rich part of the world. Of course, Mediterranean cruising is also stunning, and I’ve been lucky enough to visit a multitude of iconic, bucket-list city ports: Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Pisa and Dubrovnik, to name a few. Europe has such incredible history and culture, and in these cities, there is something new to discover around every corner. Rome was a particular highlight, with history radiating down every street! I’ve experienced an abundance of cruise lines, and love to advise and help customers book their cruising holidays.

I adore travelling in any form though, and I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world in a multitude of other ways: from handy all-inclusive packages and summer villa escapes to European city breaks and long-haul adventures! A coach tour of the western USA was a fantastic experience, visiting Las Vegas, San Francisco, DisneyWorld, Anaheim, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and Los Angeles, and I’ve also been lucky enough to tick off Chicago, New York and Florida, all of which I’ll never forget. Canada is another favourite of mine; I spent a breathtaking day at Niagara Falls and took the Mist Tour, which was an absolute highlight of the trip. If you’re interested in a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Toronto, I couldn’t recommend it more!

Closer to home, a rare and memorable highlight of mine was an escorted tour, island-hopping around Croatia by yacht – the scenery was so unbelievably beautiful. There’s nothing more relaxing than sailing upon smooth, crystal blue waters, with the ocean breeze on your face. I had to pinch myself!
