All about Tracy
I began my career in travel 25 years ago in a large travel company, and I’m now proud to be the Manager of the Stroud branch of Miles Morgan Travel. I love my job: the industry is always changing as new resorts and destinations become popular, new tour operators and airlines are formed and customers bring new ideas into the branch every single day. Working for Miles Morgan Travel, we’re lucky to have constant training and are kept up-to-date with the market, with access to leading tour operators in the business. Every customer that arrives is in search of something different, from city breaks to world cruises, which makes each interaction really exciting.
Cyprus is one of my favourite destinations: I’ve been visiting time and time again for 30 years! It offers something for everyone, from beautiful beaches and harbours to water-sports, rich history and culture, and even the snowy Troodos mountains. I’ve visited with friends and family of all ages, and everybody has always enjoyed it immensely. Cyprus is a modern island but is still encapsulated in local charm, with many family-run restaurants serving traditional Cypriot cuisine: Keliftiko and Stifado recipes in particular are passed down the generations, and the locals all insist that their family recipe is the best! To get the most out of a trip to Cyprus, I’d recommend hiring a car as driving there is extremely easy. The Cypriots drive on the same side of the road as the English, the road signs are always in both Greek and English and the roads themselves are well-maintained. It’s also a brilliant way to see as much of this beautiful country as possible! If a customer asked for inspiration for somewhere to visit, Cyprus would always be my top answer.
Orlando is another favourite of mine. Though it primarily attracts young families, I think there’s something in Orlando to suit everybody; on my family’s most recent visit, we had an age range of 7-69, and everybody was fantastically well-catered for. The theme-parks are the main highlight, of course, with an abundance of rollercoasters, rides and simulations that provide the perfect adrenaline kick and could keep me entertained for days on end. However, there’s so much else on offer: hot-air ballooning, museums, bioluminescent kayaking, sporting events and even the world’s largest permanent ICEBAR! It’s impossible to get bored in Orlando, and it’s definitely a holiday that requires another holiday afterwards to recover from the busyness. I’d recommend a twin-centre that includes a beach-stay on the Florida coast afterwards, to relax and recuperate by the ocean.
My most recent trip was a gorgeous river cruise along the Rhine and Moselle. As a first-time river-cruiser, I can safely say that I’d recommend this mode of travel to those looking for a calm, peaceful holiday. We visited a range of charming historic towns and cities along both rivers, including Cochem, Cologne and Rudesheim. The scenery is spectacular, with enormous castles overlooking the rivers and picturesque little villages that provide insight into the lives of local communities. Standing on the top deck with a drink in hand and watching the beautiful world go by was an experience I’ll treasure for a long time.
If you’d like to know more, or if you’re interested in booking your next holiday, I’d love to meet you in our Stroud branch.
