All about Karen

After thirty wonderfully rewarding years in broadcasting, I decided three years ago to turn my hand to the travel industry. I needed a new challenge in life: I wanted a career that I was genuinely passionate about, and that would inspire me each day. For the past three years have been a Product Manager, designing and operating escorted tours for British and US travellers across the United Kingdom.

Recently, I read somewhere that life is short, and while you can always earn more money, you can never get more time. This deeply resonated with me, and I realised the reason I chose to pursue a role in travel: if I could, I’d spend as much time as possible travelling the world, soaking up the beauty of culture, history and nature. It brings me so much joy to work in Miles Morgan Travel’s Stroud branch, helping customers to achieve those goals every single day.

There’s a special place in my heart for the USA: I lived there for three years in my teens. It’s a spectacularly unique country, with everything you could possibly want across its vast landscape, from National Parks to Disney Parks, from beaches to deserts to canyons and cities more vibrant than my dizziest daydreams could have imagined. I loved my time there and make it my mission to visit as often as possible. I’d be delighted to help customers searching for more information on what the USA has to offer.

My perfect trip is usually active and dynamic: I love fly-drives, escorted tours and cruises for the fantastic knowledge that I learn about the world, and about myself, when I’m exploring. Some of my favourite destinations over the years include Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Nairobi, Uluru, and Lapland – an eclectic mix of terrains, each offering fascinating cultures and traditions to immerse myself in, incredible sights to see and delicious local cuisines to taste. I was never fond of classrooms, but travelling has always been an amazing way to deepen my understanding of the world, try new things and fill my years with unforgettable, unique adventures. I’d recommend any of these destinations to those in search of a holiday like no other, and experiences impossible to replicate anywhere else in the world.

I tell myself regularly that ‘you only regret the things you didn’t do, rather than the things you did’. My mission is to make the most of my time on this fascinating and diverse planet and to help others do the same. I’ll never tire of travelling and am elated to spend my days helping the wonderful Miles Morgan Travel customers with their travel plans and dreams.
