All about Melissa

Travel has always been a huge part of my life. I was lucky enough to travel a lot throughout my childhood, mainly to various parts of France and the Balearic Islands. Fast forward to adulthood, and my love for travel is ever-growing, as I venture further afield and pursue my career in the travel industry. I’m very excited to join the team at Miles Morgan Travel, as I love to share these experiences with customers and give them the confidence to explore new places.

One of my favourite destinations is Mexico. I’ve visited both Cancun and Riviera Maya, and they couldn’t be more different: Cancun with its high-rise hotels and amazing nightlife, in contrast to the tranquillity of Riviera Maya’s gorgeous shoreline and natural parks. When I visited Riviera Maya, I swam with dolphins, snorkelled in the little hidden lagoons and explored the cenotes and underground caves too, which are just magical. Whether you fancy dancing until dawn, connecting to nature, or putting your feet up with a great book, Mexico really has it all.

Las Vegas is another special place to me. When I visited, I stayed in the fabulous pyramid-shaped Luxor Hotel, but we made sure to visit every hotel – including the famous Caesar’s Palace – to get a flavour of the incredible accommodation on offer. I was blown away by the scale of everything and felt transported into a completely different way of life! The casinos were also great fun, and the evening entertainment was so varied, with something to suit everyone. I was lucky enough to see The Blue Man Group perform one evening, which was a truly incredible show.

While you’re travelling in that corner of the world, I’d definitely recommend the Champagne Breakfast Helicopter Flight across the Grand Canyon. If you’re not too scared of heights, it’s absolutely breathtaking. On a bright day, see if you can spot the Hoover Dam!

Finally, for another destination that offers the absolute pinnacle of both worlds, I’d really recommend a twin-stay in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The combination of so much culture with such beautiful landscapes makes for an incredibly special trip. Enjoy your breakfast in Sri Lanka accompanied by sweet little monkeys, drinking locally-grown Ceylon Tea, and take a day trip to the Maldives to relax, unwind and enjoy the island life. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will delight both the adventurer and the beach-lover.
