All about Amanda

I’ve been in the travel industry for 33 years and joined the wonderful team in Miles Morgan Travel’s Clevedon branch 2 years ago. Before that, I primarily worked for a large independent travel company, and over the years I’ve been extremely lucky to have travelled the world, visiting many amazing destinations and experiencing a huge range of fascinating cultures.

I’d be the first to admit that I love a beach break: there’s nothing more rewarding than a week or two in the baking sun, with crystal blue waters only a stone’s throw away. The Maldives would be one of my top destinations for an idyllic getaway: the sand is powder soft, the setting is absolutely stunning and the peace and tranquillity is unmatched. Antigua is another favourite of mine: it’s a beach-lovers’ paradise, with delicious cuisine and that wonderful Caribbean energy.

As the Australia Specialist in the Clevedon branch, I have a passion for putting together tailor-made itineraries. For me, travelling around Australia by campervan was an unforgettable family holiday! A road trip is a fantastic way to visit an abundance of destinations, as well as those slightly more obscure gems. We drove from Perth to Margaret River, and then flew across to Sydney, marvelling at the magnificent Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. To top it off, we travelled up the Gold Coast to Brisbane and spent a week on the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling and swimming. It was the biggest adventure of my life! If you’re interested in a trip across the globe you’ll never forget, I’d be delighted to share my expertise.

When it comes to family holidays, mine are big fans of the action-packed adventures. Florida is a particular favourite: we love the bustling excitement of the theme parks, and the hundreds of fantastic attractions. Even for those who don’t enjoy rollercoasters, Florida offers the contrast of the beautiful beaches on the Gulf Coast, making it a top bucket-list destination. In the winter, when we’re missing the adrenaline rush of the Disney parks, my family love a skiing holiday, and we’ve visited many wonderful resorts in Austria and France, as well as four unforgettable trips to Lapland.

Cruising is a fabulous way to visit multiple destinations in one trip, alongside sampling the high-quality cuisine and entertainment that each cruise line has to offer. I’ve been lucky enough to have travelled on many fantastic cruises, including around the Caribbean and Mexico with Celebrity Cruises, and down to the Canary Islands with P&O. Recently, I took my first river cruise along the Rhine and Moselle with Riviera Travel, which was a great experience. I spent my days on the balcony, gazing at the breathtaking scenery and disembarking to learn about the historical sights along the way. The food was delicious, and the cabins were first class. I’m a true advocate for both ocean and river cruises, and love to help customers find the perfect voyage and cruise line for them. If you’d like to know more, please don’t hesitate to ask!
