All about Ann
I’m delighted to be joining Miles Morgan Travel’s Cirencester branch as a Foreign Exchange Specialist. I’ve been serving the public for thirty-five years, including many roles in foreign exchange and travel insurance, and I’ve always enjoyed chatting to customers about their exciting travel plans!
When my children were small, we spent many happy holidays camping across France on Keycamp and Eurocamp holidays, travelling on the overnight ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff. France is a beautiful country, and the close proximity makes it an economic and easy-access destination, perfect for families. The holiday always began on the ferry, as soon as we left the car deck! My children and I will treasure those memories forever.
Now that that they’ve left home, though, I’m exploring the wider world. City breaks have proven to be a really great way to travel solo, with plenty on the doorstep to see and do. Copenhagen and Amsterdam were particular highlights, two stunning cities with awe-inspiring architecture and fantastically rich cultures. I’m a big fan of guided day trips, and there are plenty in both cities. From Amsterdam there’s a direct bus to Keukenhof, on of the world’s largest flower gardens that blooms with the country’s infamous tulips! It’s an amazing sight, I’d really recommend that as an excursion to anybody visiting The Netherlands. I’d love to go back and see them again.
I think it’s safe to say that I also love island holidays. In recent years I’ve visited Madeira, Fuerteventura, Menorca, Rhodes, Zakynthos and Jersey. Madeira was a really special one: it’s such a beautiful, lush green island. The day trips were excellent value too! I decided to sign up to a Levada walk – one of the gorgeous hiking trails – and it was definitely the highlight of my holiday. Not only did we explore the lovely landscapes of Madeira, but we also took the opportunity to swim in the volcanic pools! I’d definitely love to visit Madeira again.
Sicily, Malta and the Scilly Isles are next on my bucket list, and I’d also love to island-hop around the Caribbean. On the city-break front, Barcelona is calling my name. My big ambition, though, is to take a sleeper train across the North American continent: I’m yet to decide if I’d rather do Canada or the USA because both would be such different experiences, but both sound amazing. Hopefully one day I’ll end up doing both!
I look forward to meeting you in the Foreign Exchange Bureau of Miles Morgan Travel’s Cirencester branch, and hearing all about your travels.
