All about Leah
After 24 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I love what I do: I’ve had some great experiences travelling across the world, and I love nothing more than helping customers to find their own dream adventures. I’m excited to be the Manager for Miles Morgan Travel’s Chippenham branch – it’s a fantastic role that I feel lucky to be fulfilling. I work alongside a brilliant team, and we welcome both new and returning customers into branch every working day.
I could create an enormous album of my most memorable travel moments: from snorkelling and diving in Thailand to spotting bears wander across the roads of Canada, helicopter rides over the Rockies and a moving visit to Pearl Harbour on Hawaii. Travel can offer such a wide variety of experiences and emotions. Personally, I tend to seek adventure and have found the adrenaline thrill across the world, in the most beautiful destinations.
As the Australia Specialist in the Chippenham branch, it makes sense that Australia and New Zealand are my top destinations in the world. I’ve visited Australia three times, and each visit has made the long-haul flight worthwhile with the most irreplaceable memories. I enjoyed a fabulous stay at the famous Versace Hotel on the Gold Coast, home to the "I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here" show, and I took the iconic Jet Boat Thrill Ride, which gave me a sensational adrenaline kick. On another occasion I spotted crocodiles in the Lone Pine Sanctuary near Brisbane, and cuddled koalas, whose appearances are far sweeter than their smell! It's an amazing destination, and one I'll always hold close to my heart.
I’ve also spent 3 weeks touring New Zealand by car, and this beautiful island remains at the top of my wish list to return to. I loved the scenery and spent a lot of my tour exploring the tranquil national parks. They have a very laid-back pace of life which was a real treat. The locals are very friendly, and it felt like such an escape from reality. South Island, Queenstown became my playground: I tried “fun-yaking” - kayaking in inflatable kayaks - and of course, the Shotover jet-boat down the Dart River. In the Franz Josef area, heli-hiking the glaciers – taking a helicopter up for a hike around the beautiful landscape – was another fantastic highlight. I’d recommend New Zealand to any customers in search of a dreamy trip across the world.
South Africa was another favourite of mine. The diversity surprised me and made for a very varied trip: as well an iconic Harley Davidson ride across Cape Town, I lunched with the local celebrities, and also took an incredibly humbling visit to the townships. The scenery was amazing, with Table Mountain overlooking the city from the east, and the South Atlantic Ocean lapping at its western edge. I’d love to go back, and I’d recommend it to any customer searching for a glance into a really interesting culture.
Dubai is also at the top of my list, being so different to anywhere else I’ve travelled before. Every skyscraper is uniquely exquisite, and the cityscape is such a dramatic contrast with the soft sandy beaches. For customers wanting an adventure away from the cosmopolitan glamour, I’d recommend chauffeured dune-bashing: an adrenaline-fuelled excursion of speeding and drifting across the sand-dunes in a 4x4, a ride you’ll certainly never forget!
Whatever type of holiday you’re after, whether it be an action-packed adventure or laid-back luxury, I’d love to help you organise the perfect trip for you.
