All about Rhiannon

I’m thrilled to have joined the Miles Morgan Travel team in Chepstow and feel very excited to start my career in the travel industry. After six years as a teacher, I felt the time was right in 2024 to pursue a career that I’m really passionate about, inspiring others to visit the amazing countries I’ve been lucky enough to go to!

My passion for travel began when I used the school holidays to interrail around Europe for 4 weeks. I started in Budapest and travelled through Croatia, Italy, France, Spain and the Netherlands. One of this things I love most about travel is that every day is busy! I like to get up early and explore what each city has to offer before the world wakes up. My highlights included the Colosseum in Rome and the Royal Palace in Madrid, both offering fascinating history and culture. When I returned home, I felt so sad that it was over and I knew straight away that I wanted to travel again.

Every year after, I travelled and explored more of Europe, including eastern Europe. My favourite moments so far: cycling around Salzberg on the Sound of Music tour and visiting Lake Bled in Slovenia. I also visited Portugal, Spain and Greece where I completely fell in love with Athens and the Greek islands I visited. The food, history and beaches are some of the best in the world in my opinion!

I finally decided to leave my teaching role to travel further and discover more of the world. I travelled solo to Central America for 3 months and had the most incredible time of my life! Before I went, I said to myself that I would say YES to every opportunity that came my way. The result? I found myself hiking to the top of volcano and watching Volcano Fuego erupt, ziplining through the jungle in Costa Rica, paragliding in Colombia and visiting Tikal and Chichen Itza. What a dream.

I continued my travels and spent 5 months in South America. I was stunned at how beautiful it is; South America offers every landscape and experience you can want. My top 3 favourite experiences were visiting the salt flats in Uyuni, Bolivia; hiking the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu; and exploring the vast desert of Patagonia. Rio de Janeiro, too, has always been a bucket list destination for me and it exceeded all my expectations. I spent my time there visiting the Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, strolling along Copacabana beach and learning how to samba! I had the most incredible time and I’d encourage everyone to visit.

Next on my list? New Zealand, Nepal and Japan!
