I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a travel agent. I started out as an apprentice in 1999, before spending the next twenty years in a high street agent. After taking a break to have my family, I’m now absolutely thrilled to be back in the industry that I remain hugely passionate about. Working as a Travel Specialist for Miles Morgan Travel, in my hometown of Chepstow, is a real joy.

Choosing my favourite destination is very difficult, but Cyprus would have to be my top pick in Europe. I took a short interlude to work as a holiday representative there in 2003 and fell in love with it. There are so many fantastic sights to see – from ancient archaeological sites, to bustling cities and a wide range of resorts and exhilarating attractions for all the family – and the beaches are gorgeous. I love hiring a car there and exploring this beautiful island, before kicking back and soaking up the sunshine! It’s the best combination, and I’d recommend it to any customer: there really is something for everyone.

Further afield, I adore Sri Lanka, and I’d love to go back. I was blown away by the diversity of the island: stunning beaches, rainforests, mountains, as well as vibrant cities and breathtaking temples, steeped in ancient and recent history alike. The views when I was travelling up through the tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya (Little England) late one evening were like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It’s a place that everybody should visit at least once, should they have the chance!

All holidays have their special charm, but ocean cruises are particularly special for me. I’ve been on a multitude of cruises and have loved every one. The standard of service is impeccable, the food delicious and the destinations are carefully selected to create inspiring itineraries, offering the perfect balance of the iconic and the unexpected hidden gems. I always get so excited when stepping onto a new ship for the first time. It’s honestly, in my opinion, the best way to travel!
