Although there are no beaches in Sorrento, it is a beautiful seaside town with breathtaking views over the bay of Naples. The food, service and gardens in some of the hotels are absolutely first class. You can take a train to Pompeii or a boat trip to Capri. Venice is awash with exquisite hotels and restaurants, but for me possibly the most spectacular setting is Terrazza Danieli, with its stunning views over the Venetian Lagoon. Give me a call to find out about our great deals from Bristol and the best way to make a dramatic entrance into Venice.

I savoured every moment of my trip to Venice, Florence and Rome and it certainly gave me a flavour of what each of these great cities has to offer. I cannot wait to return to explore even more.

Italy, a country you can visit over and over again and still experience something new. Top tip: pre-book your tickets for the Uffizi Gallery, Florence - no queues!. Don’t miss: One of my favourite hotels - Luna Convento, Amalfi - former monastery, quirky character and a superb restaurant

Another country that is close to my heart! I spent the most amazing 10 days on a coach tour and was surprised at how many places we visited that would otherwise have remained hidden to me. Le Marche, otherwise known as Italy's undiscovered jewel with excursions to Urbino, Arezzo and optional wine tasting trips, was one of my favourite places to discover. From museums to architecture and fabulous food to great hospitality, Italy has it all.

Italy is my favourite destination for a city break. For art lovers and historians alike, there is so much to discover in these fascinating cities. If I had to pick a favourite, it would have to be Venice, with its winding canals, stunning architecture and the bustling St Marks Square.

Italy can be expensive, but it is so worthwhile a visit. You will soon understand what ‘La Dolce Vita’ is all about when you relax in Italy’s lovely seaside resorts, explore the beautiful cities, stay in the charming lakeside towns, immerse yourself in the history and eat the fantastic food.

Spending Christmas skiing in the Italian Dolomites is the perfect way to experience the unique Italian/Austrian mix of this region .Choose Selva as a base for your first trip and you will find yourself in the in the perfect spot to access all that this region has to offer. Your Dolomiti ski pass gives you the largest linked ski area in Europe. Take the Sella Ronda ski route around the Marmolada mountain and each new village you encounter will give you a fresh chance to try the local Apple Strudel in some memorable and beautiful settings. An area for all standards of skiing abilities there is skiing for all here and, like myself, you will want to return year after year.
