I have stayed on many Greek islands and I would definitely recommend island-hopping as a lovely way to get a taster of the different islands. It's hard to say which is my favorite, as each island has its own magic. Hiring a car in Crete is a great way to find some of the hidden smaller beaches. I did lots of shopping in Rhodes Town and rode a donkey to the acropolis in Lindos. Seeing the loggerhead turtles was very special in Zante and a boat trip to Smugglers Cove is a must. Corfu had some beautiful beaches and from Kos, I took a trip to Turkey for the day. The Greek people are very friendly and love to see you enjoy their local cuisine. Meze give you a taster with a variety of small dishes and try washing it down with the local Ouzo for a true Greek experience.

Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and I have been lucky enough to have stayed in several resorts here. Crete has fabulous landscapes and beaches and is full of history. A visit to the historical Minoan sites, such as the Palace of Knossos, is a must. There are many lovely resorts such as Chania, Crete's own mini Venice, and Rethymnon. If you would like to know more about this beautiful island please give me a call. Halkidiki is a beautiful summer destination, but away from the beaches Thessaloniki is well worth a visit. Thassos is the most northerly Greek island, just six miles from the mainland. The main draw here is its wonderful archaeological sites, but you can do lots of activities such as horse riding, watersports and walking. Corfu Town is a great place for sightseeing the old town has Venetian fortresses and a distinct Italian feel. The are some lovely resorts hers such as Sidari, Paleokastritsa and Dassia. There is plenty to do with some lovely beaches. Please give me a call if you would like some more information on any of these Greek treasures.

So many islands and some with huge contrasts. Having visted most of them, from the small traditional islands such as Mykonos to the larger such as Crete, I will be able to advise which would be the most suitable for you.

One of my favourite Greek Islands, Zante is a great place to holiday and I can tell you where to find the undiscovered treasures of this island. There are hotels galore and beaches with golden sand. Explore the relics of the Byzantium Museums and enjoy dining at simple plaid covered tables at Malanos, a family-run taverna popular with locals and tourists alike.

For a family holiday you can't go wrong with the Greek Islands. Personally I prefer the quieter islands like Thassos, Lefkas and Kefalonia with their picture postcard beaches, along with some legendary historical sites. Wherever you choose to go in Greece you are assured the warmest of welcomes. Give me a call to plan your next holiday.

Greece is probably one of my favourite holiday destinations. I have visited Crete, Zante, Corfu, Kefalonia, Skiathos and Santorini. It is such a beautiful country with stunning scenery, traditional charm and it is full of history. Why not try a Greek meze in one of the many authentic tavernas and experience the genuine flavour of local life.

I have holidayed in Greece every year, sometimes twice, for the last 20 years, so I would definitetly class myself as a 'Greek Expert'. Whichever island you choose, large or small, you will receive the most lovely warm welcome from the locals, as well as food to die for, beautiful scenery, history and lots of activities (if that's what you want). I would recommend Kefalonia for breath-taking views, Crete for history or Kos for stunning beaches and a quick sightseeing/shopping trip to Turkey. Call me for advice on any of the Greek islands you are thinking of visiting.

I still can't believe I walked the Samaria Gorge in August! It's well worth taking a day out of your holiday to visit the gorge and there are numerous ways to do it - some less tiring than others! Many Cretan resorts are absolutely idyllic - Tavronitis is one of my favourites as it is a very peaceful, sleepy seaside village with some lovely tavernas. Rethymnon has a beautiful harbour with lots of open air restaurants and bars. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands so give me a call to discuss which area suits you the best.
