The hotels here strike a chord for all the right reasons; the impeccable service, the opulent surroundings and each and every one I've visted so far has incredible attention to detail. I highly recommend a relaxing stay at The One and Only Royal Mirage or, if you'd prefer a bit more of a lively holiday, why not try the Nikki Beach Hotel famous for it's lavish pool and beach parties.

With so many luxurious hotels to choose from, deciding where to stay can be a challenge. Each hotel is special in its own way, so it’s definitely important to make the most of your stay and explore the facilities. I travelled during Ramadan, so I was a little unsure of what to expect. Things are more laid back than you would think and actually there are so many pros for travelling at this time. We had quiet flights, much less traffic on the roads, uncrowded hotels, pools, beaches and water parks, plus amazing hotel rates and lots of deals to be had at this time of year.

For some much-needed winter sun, nothing beats Dubai. In just six to seven hours you can be in the Middle East with all of its amazing diversity. On the one hand, Dubai is a contemporary city with opulent hotels and mega shopping malls, whilst on the other it offers the Arabian desert where you can witness camel racing and even stay in a Bedouin tent. I have stayed both on Jumeirah Beach and the Palm, which is an outlandish concept, and can recommend lots of hotels to suit your individual needs.

Whether you’re looking for a long weekend away, a beautiful stopover location or a longer holiday, Dubai's warm temperatures and abundance of leisure activities make it well worth a visit. Why not consider a visit to the more relaxed paced Ras Al Khaimah where there's plenty of outdoor and wildlife activites to try.

Just wandering the streets of Dubai is a fascinating experience. You’ll find a charming mixture of buildings throughout Dubai’s Old Town, then in complete contrast the ultra-modern skyscrapers and lively nightlife of the city. Wherever you are, there’s a buzz of people and plenty of atmosphere.
