Tracey visits the most presigious address on the island

First Impressions

Date : 27/06/2018

If you’re looking for the most luxurious of all the Beachcomber properties, then this is the one for you. It’s a member of the leading hotels of the world, and it is conveniently located just a short stroll from the centre of Grande Baie, whilst still being set on a beautiful sandy beach.

As you enter this hotel it feels so peaceful and the whole hotel has an opulent ambience to it. This is an all- suite hotel made up of different categories which includes a royal suite with its own front gates and private pool.

Resturants and Facilities

The hotel has three restaurants and guests can stay on either a bed and breakfast or half board basis. We were lucky enough to experience lunch which was amazing, we sat overlooking the ocean and we were made to feel so very special, the service was second to none. Once a week the hotel arranges dinner on the beach, where guests can go barefoot, and they light the area up with fire torches.

All guests get their own allocated sun loungers for the duration of their stay, on arrival they will also receive champagne and fruit in their rooms. Another lovely touch was the mini bar, which is included in the room rate.

The hotel has a fully equipped gym, tennis courts, their very own squash court and a lovely spa area offering various treatments using top products such as Clarins. This hotel is also very popular for golfers since a new golf course has opened in area.

As you enter the main reception you can see various shopping opportunities including their very own art gallery. Evening entertainment is low key with a live band playing at night, or if you prefer you can relax in the Cigar Lounge.

Luxurious experiences at the Royal Palm

Although the transfer from the airport would only take about an hour by road, the hotel does offer private helicopter transfers at a supplement.

The hotel also has their own yacht to charter, Royal Princess, which will carry up to 10 people during the day or 6 if staying overnight. Guests can experience this as a day out, a full overnight or perhaps a Sundowner Cruise, with a full crew allowing guests to sit back and relax or enjoy snorkelling from the boat, food and drink will also be provided.

Final Thoughts

Although this hotel has 69 suites, it felt very peaceful with just a handful of people here and there, for an extra special occasion or if you’re simply looking for the best that Mauritius has to offer I would recommend the Royal Palm Hotel.
