I am only 5 months in at Miles Morgan Travel and I'm off on my 1st educational with Classic Collection to Sardinia and I am very excited. I have travelled to the Italian mainland many times and have always loved every minute, although this is my 1st visit to an island. On arrival at the airport in Cagliari we were greeted by our very own Chauffeur and we were quickly whisked off in our private minivan to the Forte Village in Pula Sardinia, approximately 40 minutes away.
The first thing you notice is the scent of this wonderful resort, it's everywhere, very spa like! We were greeted by the wonderful staff and boarded our golf buggy to our hotel for the following 3 nights - The hotel Il Castello. I was allocated my very own incredibly large room with Sea Views and a very large balcony, simply stunning!
After a quick turnaround we all then met at the beach pizzeria where we sampled freshly made pizza to order and a super salad bar with amazing views across the Mediterranean. After lunch we started our tour of this wonderful village which is the size of Hyde Park in London with their immaculate gardens and wavy paths everywhere. We viewed a selection of room types & suites that this resort has to offer, and there are a lot! But whatever the room category you confirm whether it's a leading or a villa you can use all the same facilities. We then had the luxury of visiting the most exquisite residences the Forte Village has to offer from the beach villas to the garden villas to suites in the sky.
We also visited Wonderland for your little ones and saw the NEW Barbie house, Mario Village, and the play area all of which were incredible facilities and can meet all your family's needs. They even have a Barbie Academy. After we explored the resort, it was time to get ready for dinner.
Tonight, we were to experience the Le Dune restaurant, t was a set menu for us to sample this evening. The presentation was perfect the setting was amazing, literally steps from the sea. I even had a stool for my handbag?! Very chic. After a short walk back to our hotel it was time to say goodnight as it's been a very long day and I couldn't wait to get into that beautiful comfy large bed, the room had been turned down for me and the spotlights were on.
Day 2
I woke up in my bed, I did not want to get up, black out curtains were a dream but I couldn't wait to look at the incredible view from my balcony and it seemed the sun was shining. Time for breakfast! I arrived at the Cavalieri with beautiful music being played on the piano. There was so much selection, from fresh fruits to freshly prepared omelettes. You could also get fully cooked breakfasts to fluffy pancakes & waffles.
Then feeling rather full, it was time to experience the Aquaforte Spa, we were very fortunate to be given 90 mins in the Thalassotherapy pools. To be completely honest, you would look at pools no 1 & 2 and think no way as the colour is enough to put you off. However, it was amazing and definitely worth the experience. This Spa has been voted the Best Spa for families by Conde Naste in 2024, to get a spa that includes a family option is quite rare!
Lunchtime was at the pizzeria again, no complaints from me here! It's delicious and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Then with a full belly, it was Go-Karting time! We were swept away on our golf buggy to Leisureland. Now this is my first ever experience of this! We got suited up, hair net on! We had our safety brief and then I sat in my Go kart remembering what the instructor said to do and not do! It was a lot of fun, definitely worth a go.
After we returned to the room to get ready for dinner, but before that, we were all invited to the Cantina where they store all the wines for the resort. Although I do not drink alcohol the Sommelier was very passionate about her job and it showed. I had a soft drink whilst my colleague's tasted the various wines on offer whilst pairing them with cheeses and different salamis.
If we hadn't eaten enough already, it was time to eat again at the Sardinian restaurant, where the ladies in local dress prepared the bread and we sampled local cuisine, which was delicious. Homemade bread and pasta, what's not to love! Then we headed off to the piazza to experience the entertainment, the singers were extremely good. There are shops all around the Piazza from Dolce & Cabana to Emporio Armani, a little bit out of my price range, but lovely to pretend! Then it was off to my big comfy bed.
Day 3
Breakfast by the piano again this morning, I could get used to this. Yoga was taking place on the lawns nice & early. The ambience of this resort is chilled, I wandered down to the beach where it just went on and on, it seems for miles. The beaches are everything I had hoped for here in Sardinia, they really are like the Caribbean, soft sand and beautiful clear waters. Concierge is also at the beach, where you can reserve a sunbed for the duration of your stay. There is no need to worry about finding one, they can have up to 1000 beds on the beach! I spent some time here on the plush sunbeds, they are sumptuous.
We then had an afternoon cooking class at the Pizzeria with Luigi and crew. All the dough is ready and prepped ready to roll for each customer. They are very precise about their pizzas, after the base was made, I selected my toppings, I went for aubergine, mozzarella, mushrooms and ham and off it went into the rustic pizza oven it went and it was delicious and a lot of fun to do. I then off I went on a wander with some of my new friends I made were we explored the resort and saw the sports courts, again they have lots of sports academies on offer as well. They have literally thought of everything.
After exploring we noticed that Barbies car had arrived, very pink and very sparkly! On our travels, we decided to stop for a drink at the sports bar where you can keep up with everything sporty on their large outdoor screen. I then had a stroll to the on-site water park, where they had various waterslides and a splash park for the little ones. I then tried out the swimming pool by the beach, which was heated! A coffee was brought to us from one of the friendly waiters.
Then it was time to go get showered & changed and ready for our last evening. Tonight, we ate at the Brazilian, this was incredible, big spits of meat cooking and then brought to our table, a selection of all meats were offered along with potato slices and dips, then to finish it off, barbequed pineapple and ice cream.
Then I had a quick shop in the resort gift shop, and I finally solved the mystery of the resort scent and I purchased it! Now, I can have a little reminder of Sardinia every day in my home. All in all, this resort is spectacular! If you want exquisite dining, they have multiple Michelin star chefs. If you want sports & fitness, they have it! The selection is endless. No child would ever be bored here as the facilities they offer from the nursery for the little ones, Leisureland, Wonderland, various academies, bowling to even a waterpark.
I would recommend this resort to a family, couples and also multi generation families who love everything being in one place, this resort shows Italian passion, they will all make sure you enjoy every second! Their attention to even the smallest of detail shows they care! And well the beach, simply stunning. It's the best I have seen in Italy so far!
