16th November 2016: For many, the best part about cruising is the dining and Silversea definitely deliver in this department. With prestigious chefs and a variety of dining venues, you can enjoy everything from Italian cuisine to Asian fusion, all with excellence of quality service. We were lucky enough to enjoy a delicious 4-course lunch on board, beginning with champagne on arrival.
Our appetiser was a tower of marinated crabmeat, with sliced avocado, poached quail egg and American caviar. The crabmeat tasted so fresh, and the flavours were fabulous together, so a fantastic start to the meal.
Next we enjoyed the char-gilled fresh swordfish, with sautéed artichokes, arugula leaves, tomato basil and extra virgin olive oil vinaigrette. It was simply amazing, especially when swordfish is one of my favourite dishes.
Entrée was the roasted beef tenderloin, which included creamy mascarpone polenta and asparagus tips with a port wine and foie gras sauce. The beef was cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth, the knife just slid through it. I can safely say it was definitely one of the best I have ever had.
To finish we had a delicious dessert of fresh forest berry basket, which was light and refreshing, the perfect end to this fantastic meal. The meal was all complimented very well by the wine choices.
