I was very lucky to visit Cunard's Queen Mary 2, a luxurious, traditional, 5-star cruise liner. Here's what I experienced in my time on this iconic ship.
All the areas on board are beautifully furnished and finished, and spacious too.
The main dining restaurant stands out, with its stunning art deco design, sumptious carpet and fabulous decor. The ship offers exceptional dining, whether the magnificent buffet, main dining restaurant, afternoon tea or a special dinner at the speciality restaurant - the choice and variety of food is truely amazing. Cunard really does feel like another world, yet offers comfort and courtesy.
Cabins
The cabins are beautiful, finished to a high standard, with lovely toiletries. The Britannia Club is the lowest level tier of cabin, followed by the Princess Grill and then the Queens Grill.
The Grills cabins offer extra space, a kitchenette, sitting area and balcony. Also you can choose to dine in a separate dining room, where there are lots of tables for two, and separate bars for pre/post dinner relaxation.
Facilities
Other fantastic facilities on board include the largest library at sea, kids clubs, five swimming pools (one of which has a retractable roof), gym, casino, spectacular spa facilities, spacious theatre offering world class entertainment, and kennels at sea!
The only cruise ship where you can take your dog on board, and sit back to watch the stars in the onboard planetarium, whilst cruising to New York!
Food and Drink
The bars and lounges are varied, including a Godiva chocolate lounge, the G32 nightclub (named after the dock number the ship was built in), a champagne bar and a traditional British pub.
The drinks onboard are not included in the cruise fare, but are reasonably priced in US dollars and paid for at the end of your cruise. There is a lovely amount of deck space and a traditional promenade deck.
Service
The service guests receive on board is second to none. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they really can't do enough to make sure your cruise is one to remember.
Summary
