From the moment I was offered this trip, I was screaming with excitement...! Las Vegas has always been a dream of mine and I was about to endure a holiday of a lifetime...!
Day 1
I arrived at London Heathrow to meet the Miles Morgan team and Stuart From Gold medal our amazing rep the excitement was crazy for us all. We flew with Virgin Atlantic at terminal 3, It was fantastic barely any queues and a swift easy check-in. Off through security into the departure gates and the countdown begins.
Our flight was at 16:30pm and was a duration of 10hrs and 40 mins. We flew with Virgin Atlantic who I had never flown with and I was very impressed. Lovely headrests on every seat with a blanket, pillow and headphones ready. The choice of films and entertainment was incredible there was no way you could get bored on a flight like this.
The bar and meals onboard the flight are all complimentary and the trolley service was so frequent that I had to decline sometimes. As we approached Vegas airport this was 19:00pm USA time and the lights were bright, bold and so exciting to witness everyone on the plane trying to look out.
We collected our luggage and went through immigration and it was time to get a taxi to our hotel MGM PARK which was only 10 minutes away. A lot of travellers like to prebook transfers for their trips however the cost and efficiency of getting a taxi was fantastic and saved a good $50.
As we approached the strip, I had to pinch myself to remind myself this is not a dream and I am actually here. We checked into the MGM Park Hotel which was a fantastic location on the strip, Next door to the New York New York hotel and opposite the huge MGM GRAND in all its Green and yellow Glory.
I had a room shared with Andrea from the Wells Store as we entered our room it was huge. The Space was amazing, 2 big Double beds, a sofa and Flat screen tv! We were both desperate to see what view we had received and couldn't wait to see so I opened the blinds and WOW there it was the spectacular Strip even Andrea started running around screaming and gasping.
We decided the unpacking could wait until tomorrow and were desperate to get out and look around and also try to stay awake as the time difference is 8 hours behind and we didn't want the Jet lag to kick in too much. The music, cars, lights and entire atmosphere on the strip is indescribable absolutely AMAZING! We walked around to try and take it all in and then found a lovely Irish bar outside with a big stage and live band playing and decided to stop and enjoy a nice glass of wine and take in the night.
Day 2
An early start 8am meet at reception with the group and off to Denny’s for breakfast. One word HUGE portion sizes and the most incredible choices. With our belly's full it was off to visit the Paradox Museum. I had not heard of this before so was curious. As we entered the rooms it was full of illusions and obstacles, I have never experienced something so crazy and clever we had such a laugh and it is well worth a visit.
After a refreshment stop it was time to get our photo opportunity at the famous ' Welcome to Las Vegas' sign. Now the walk to this sign from the strip is quite a walk and with the temperatures super-hot I would recommend getting the tram or even an Uber taxi if you don't fancy walking. I really thought it was going to be so busy and was worried we wouldn't get the photo due to the number of visitors however this is not the case.
We decided to visit the Luxor Hotel after this due to it being close. The huge pyramid and sphinx design out the front make it stand out. Like all the main Vegas hotels it has a huge casino, a nice big pool area out the back and choices of bars and restaurants it is also well known for its light beam at night which comes out of the top of the pyramid. This hotel is great for a family stay or a hotel base without paying over the odds-on price.
As the evening approached, it was time for the most exciting opportunity I was about to complete a helicopter over the night strip. I was nervous and excited about this and when they advised me I was sitting in the front next to the pilot I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. It was Jaw dropping the views, and lights, I just couldn't take it in and would recommend EVERYONE to do a night helicopter it only lasts approx. 10 minutes but this is something you will never forget.
Back to the MGM Grand for a 3-course Dinner at Crush this was delicious and well recommended but you will need to pre-book a reservation as it can get very busy. To end the night, we thought we would hit the casino over the New York New York hotel which is next door to our hotel. I am not a gambler and do not understand these games however I did have a small win on a machine which I was thrilled about.
Day 3
A leisurely morning and a 2-hour Bottomless brunch booked at the Wynn. OH, WOW this hotel just oozes luxury and class and has to be one of my favourite hotels in Vegas. We had unlimited food and all cuisines from around the world, As well as unlimited drinks including champagne, it was delicious.
Next was to explore the hotel and then also walk next door to explore the Venetian. The Venetian Hotel even when you are just walking up to it is extraordinary. You can hear the singers from the Gondola rides and it all takes your breath away on arrival. As you walk through the hotel, its unlimited shops, bars, and restaurants as well as the Venice canal through the middle of the hotel is spectacular to see.
The evening was another fun night, we had tickets to watch Cirque du Soleil Mad Apple show and well this did not disappoint. It was thrilling, hilarious and one of the best shows to ever see. Again, this is a must when in Vegas however they do offer around 5 different types of shows and where they perform at the hotels if you wanted more choice.
Day 4
This morning was a busy and exciting day viewing a range of hotels. We started with the Famous Bellagio, absolutely breathtaking, on arrival from entering the lobby to walking around and seeing the world’s largest-ever chocolate fountain! One corner of the hotel entrance been covered with flowers and created into an enchanted princess woodland. The smells and colours were stunning and something I had never seen before but hey we are in an iconic 5* luxury hotel in Las Vegas!
We jumped on the tram which took us back to our hotel where we enjoyed a lovely lunch and also visited the Nomad hotel which is part of the MGM Park but has its own pool and areas and is linked to our hotel.
The afternoon was then spent at the Mirage Hotel this hotel is currently being taken over by Hard Rock so will be undergoing a huge refurbishment. After a hotel tour, they treated us to a well-deserved cocktail in the Rhumba Cocktail bar. This is a gorgeous bar just outside the back entrance of the hotel it has a cosy feel to it and well, the cocktails they make are next level.
As the evening came, it was time to experience a zip-wire ride. It’s called Fly LINQ zipline and you zip line over an outside shopping mall the adrenaline was insane and something I will never forget. We then on the High roller which went 550 feet above Vegas and what a stunning site this was. It even counts down until you are at the highest peak. As we headed back to the tram to go back to the hotel, we stopped to watch the beautiful Bellagio fountains which played to music and what a spectacle this really was to witness just STUNNING!
Day 5
Our final day in the most incredible place I have ever been. We checked out at 11am and managed to store our bags at the hotel so we could still enjoy our last few hours here. We headed over to Caesars Palace for a hosted tour of the hotel. The fountain takes your breath away once you walk in as well as the beautiful architecture and paintings floor to ceiling. It is a very luxurious big hotel with different tower blocks made up of different room options. At the end of our hotel visits, we had free time and I made the most of some shopping and buying my children some very special treats to take home.
This is an experience I will never forget and I am currently planning on returning next year with my partner. If Las Vegas is something you want to explore please do give me a call or email. I am very happy to help find you the most perfect trip as well as help and advise on all the extra attractions there are to do.
