I recently had the opportunity to visit Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Borealis, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Having the chance to step onboard and explore the ship gave me a real insight into what guests can expect when sailing with Fred. Olsen.
We began our visit in The Observatory, where we were warmly welcomed by the crew. We were treated to drinks and some delicious nibbles while enjoying the panoramic views before beginning our tour of the ship. It was a lovely way to start the visit and immediately gave us a feel for the friendly and welcoming atmosphere onboard.
As we made our way around the ship, we visited a variety of cabin grades, restaurant options, the pool deck, as well as the spa and gym facilities. What impressed me most was just how spacious everything felt. Although Borealis is considered a smaller ship, it never felt cramped. There was plenty of room throughout the ship and a fantastic range of facilities, giving guests many of the same options you would expect to find on a much larger vessel. I was also pleasantly surprised by the onboard drink prices, which I found to be very reasonable and great value for money.
As we continued exploring, I couldn’t help but admire the artwork displayed throughout the ship. Every piece was different and added so much character to the various areas onboard. It gave the ship a warm and elegant feel, and I really enjoyed taking it all in as we walked around.
We also visited the Neptune Lounge, the ship’s main entertainment venue. It felt bright, spacious and welcoming, with excellent views of the stage from the seating areas. I could easily imagine spending an evening there enjoying one of the live performances, and I’m sure it creates a fantastic atmosphere for guests onboard.
Following our tour, we were taken to one of the ship’s smaller lounges called the Serenity tearoom, which had a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Once again, the crew looked after us brilliantly by serving refreshing lemonade while we had the chance to relax before lunch.
We then enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, which showcased the high standard of dining available onboard. It was the perfect way to end the visit before finishing the afternoon with a business presentation, where we learned even more about Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and what makes them such a popular choice for so many guests.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Borealis. The ship offers a wonderful balance of comfort, excellent facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, all while maintaining the charm of a smaller cruise ship.
