Recently I was lucky enough do a ship visit on the Silver Sprit in Southampton port. Upon arrival we checked through at pre-security and parked directly opposite the City Cruise Terminal. There she was, the ship looked incredible from a distance. I was met at check in by one of the Silversea representatives who supplied us with a ship day pass.
As soon as you step onboard and look around, you knew you’re on a Silversea ship! Luxury at its best! Silver Spirit holds 608 guests and 411 crew members. Refurbished in 2018. It offers its guests one of the most complete cruise experiences, with one of the highest space-to-guest ratios and eight amazing luxury dining options. Spacious decks leave plenty of room for relaxation, yet the cosy niches make sure that there is something for everyone.
We were taken to deck 9 and shown The Panorama Lounge where we were greeted by the onboard cruise hotel manager. He was our guide around the ship for the day. A cheeky glass of fizz was given to us upon arrival… Don’t mind if I do! The Panorama Lounge is a popular area with guests for pre or post drinks before/after dinner or show. There was also a lovely spacious outside decking area to relax and unwind in the fresh air. From here, the cruise director took us outside to the pool area. The sun was shining, and it looked very tempting to jump into a good size pool or use one of the 3 jacuzzi pools to the side of the pool. It felt a very spacious outdoor area with plenty of comfortable sunlounges and table and chairs. At one end stood a pool bar and a pool grill readily available serving food and drinks all day.
From here we went down to deck 8 and were shown a Panorama Suite. The suite was very light, airy and felt spacious. The décor had stylish pale colours and large shower bathroom there was also a walk-in wardrobe. Onboard Spirit, the Panorama and Vista suites do not have a veranda but a full floor to ceiling window which can be opened. With fresh orchids and a well-stocked fridge which are replenished daily.
Whilst were on deck 9, we were shown a Grand Suite. Available as a one-bedroom configuration or as a two-bedroom by adjoining with a Veranda Suite for families. It felt very luxurious with a full curved front veranda a huge shower/bathroom with luxury marble fittings. There was a large separate lounge/tv sitting area and dining table through to another room which was the king-size bedroom. There were beautiful thick carpets throughout the suite. Again, a large walk-in wardrobe and personal safe with unlimited premium WIFI… I also liked the illy espresso coffee machine. Again, daily fresh flowers and a well-stocked fridge which are replenished daily.
Up to Deck 11, we had the best views at the observation library. Here it felt quiet and calm. Borrow a book from the in-house library, read the papers or just embrace the tranquillity of being at sea. Passing boutique shops and onboard Casino, we were show next to Zagara Beauty Salon. A full range of salon services including hairstyling, manicures and pedicures, is available on board this luxury cruise ship for both men and women. Appointments for these chargeable services may be made on board the ship, or in advance via My Silversea.
Next door was Zagara Beauty Spa. Relax, rejuvenate and renew all your senses. The Zagara Beauty Spa by Silversea is a sanctuary of pure bliss… Sea views from the floor-to-ceiling windows, nine treatment rooms, an acupuncture suite, relaxation areas and a dedicated outdoor whirlpool allow delectable indulgence on board. Invigorating therapies including facials, body wraps and massages, plus men’s and women’s saunas and steam rooms are perfect for relaxing before your spa treatment or after your workout.
Dining options catered for everyone’s taste, to special diet or allergies. Morning and lunch snacks/meals are very popular at the Arts Café, here you can choose from coffee, cakes, filled croissants and baguettes… or a healthy salad or protein smoothie boost! We were also shown around many of the other eateries. Seishin Japanese - Taking its name from the Japanese translation for Spirit.
