Day 1: London to Venice

Fly from your local airport to Venice, then make your way to the jetty for an amazing private boat cruise to your handpicked hotel for a 3 night stay. (Overnight Venice)

Day 2: Venice

After breakfast head out to explore Venice at your leisure. History abounds in the car-free city, from the imposing grandeur of the Doges Palace to the pretty attractions of St. Mark's Square. Enjoy a short walking tour with a local guide for some stories of the city's labyrinthine streets and campos (squares), then enjoy a gondola ride down the Grand Cana Admire the cavernous grandeur, gilded interiors and lovely mosaics of Saint Mark's Basilica, and gaze out over the rooftops of the city from the top of the Campanile. Day 3: Venice

Spend another day unearthing the famous sights and hidden gems of spectacular Venice. Why not take a water taxi to the Lido if the weather is fine, and head to the sandy beaches for a relaxing afternoon, or even head to one of the Lagoon's other islands? Visitor favourites include the multi-coloured houses of Burano or the glass-making heritage of Murano. (Overnight in Venice)

Day 4: Venice To London

After breakfast, board your shared taxi transfer to Santa Lucia station, and check in for your journey on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Your steward will show you to your private compartment, before you enjoy a three-course lunch as you gaze at the beautiful passing scenery of the Italian Dolomites, the Austrian and Swiss Alps. Afternoon tea is served in your compartment. A four-course dinner is served in the evening in one of the three restaurant cars, after which you might like to visit the Bar Car '3674', where the resident pianist plays a baby grand piano. Return to your cabin, which will have been transformed into a cosy bedroom by your Cabin Steward. (Overnight on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express)

Day 5: Arrival Into London

This morning, a Continental breakfast is served in your compartment before the train pulls into Paris Gare de l'Est and halts for 40 minutes. A delicious brunch is served in the restaurant cars as you travel on towards the French coast for the Channel crossing. Join the cream and umber carriages of the British Pullman, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express' sister train, for the journey to London. A traditional English afternoon tea accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine is served to you at your table as you watch the gentle scenery of Kent pass by before drawing into London Victoria Station.
