Full Itinerary

Day 1: Avignon

Your journey begins with a flight to Marseille, where upon arrival, you'll be transferred to Avignon to board your ship.

After boarding, take the time to explore the ship or venture into the quaint town on the scenic River Rhône.

Day 2: Arles

This morning we arrive in Arles, where you'll disembark after breakfast. This city is full of diverse architecture and vibrant colours, which have inspired artists for years. Those who love history will enjoy a visit to the Roman ruins, including Les Arènes and the Romanesque monuments of the Church of Saint-Trôphime, which dates back to the 15th century.

You'll return to the ship for lunch, followed by an afternoon at your leisure, where you can explore on your own or browse the shops for handcrafted gifts, before a delicious dinner on board as we depart.

Day 3: Avignon

We begin the day with a guided walking tour of Avignon, nicknamed the "City of Popes". Home to seven popes over the years, this wonderful city is full of historical charm, with its picturesque Pont d'Avignon and Place de I'Horloge. We'll make a visit to the renowned Palace of Popes with a guide, strolling through a maze of Gothic architecture that served as papal residence, fortress, church and palace.

This afternoon is at your leisure, so feel free to set off on your own, or take advantage of an optional wine tasting tour to the Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Lunch and dinner are served on board, as we travel on towards Viviers.

Day 4: Viviers

With a morning walking tour of Viviers Old Town, you'll be treated to an abundance of medieval and Renaissance buildings. Dominated by its 12th century St. Vincent Cathedral, this charming town is full of cobbled streets and remains of its 5th century Roman settlement.

During lunch, we'll set sail for Tournon. Upon arrival why not take a stroll under the plane trees which line the riverbanks.

Day 5: Tournon & Vienne

This morning we enjoy a wonderful locomotive ride on the Train de l’Ardèche. Travelling through the deep gorges of the Ardèche plateau by the Doux Rivers, before returning to your ship for lunch.

Continuing on through dramatic landscapes, we make our way to Vienne, a beautiful town with an ancient Roman past. On a walking tour, we'll visit sights such as the Temple of Augustus and Livia, the Roman amphitheatre and the Gothic Cathedral of St. Maurice.

Day 6: Lyon

Enjoy breakfast on board, before we disembark for a tour of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lyon. See stunning views from the top of Fourvière Hill, visit the Basilica of Notre Dame and drive through town past the magnificent St. Jean Cathedral and the Palace of Justice.

Next we enjoy a walking tour of the old town, Vieux Lyon, where you'll have time to stroll the cobbled streets, browse for souvenirs and sample some of the delicious local cuisine.

Day 7: Lyon

We take a scenic drive through the roll hills of Beaujolais this morning, including the legendary Moulin-à-Vent windmill. Learn the secret art of winemaking in a small museum, enjoy a tasting in one of the famous Beaujolais cellars, then the rest of your day is at your leisure.

Explore on your own, or take advantage of an optional excursion to the picturesque Burgundy town of Cluny.

Day 8: Lyon

After breakfast this morning we disembark the ship, heading to the airport for your flight home.
