The last part of the Rising Stars training was on board the Ambassador Cruise Line ship Ambition, which was sailing from Bristol to Tilbury. My blog is all about the entertainment, there was so much going on over the weekend, and here are a few of my highlights.
Friday night, we went to The Palladium which is the main show area. The show on that evening was Night in Nashville. The dancers had amazing energy and the music was a range from Dolly Parton to Billy Ray Cyrus and George Ezra, there was plenty of audience participation, singing and clapping along. If you want to continue your evening, you can go to The Cavern where they have music, quizzes, and games. Then if you are a night owl, this evening there was a silent disco, plenty of choice on the channels, but it’s never silent with people singing!
Saturday, there was a very moving service of Remembrance to mark Armistice Day and the 2-minute silence. Then in the afternoon, an audience with Linda Lusardi, where she was asked questions by Sam Kane, her husband, this was very interesting, talking about her past and what her children are doing. As I love bingo, I had to pop along to The Cavern and have a game, the prize money was better than my local club! Before the Gala dinner, it was back to The Palladium for the Captain's reception, during the Gala dinner, the staff came through the restaurant waving napkins and having sparklers on baked Alaska to celebrate the dessert.
After dinner, the wonderful entertainment team put on another singing and dancing show in The Palladium, the songs and acting were all based on love and heartbreak stories. It was then back to The Cavern for more entertainment, where we were treated to ABBA songs, the dancefloor was packed with everyone singing and dancing like queens!
There is plenty of entertainment throughout the day to cater to everyone’s taste, whether that is killer darts, bingo or even spin class. You could never be bored, I would highly recommend a cruise on Ambition.
