June 5th 2017: When people think of Dubai, many see it as a stopover option, but this city has so much more to offer, from beautiful beaches and a friendly cosmopolitan vibe to its year-round fantastic weather, all contribute to make Dubai a great holiday option.
Recently Abigail, Manager at our Taunton branch, had the opportunity to experience the wonders of Dubai for herself including some of its most luxurious hotels. Abigail shares with us which hotels she’d recommend for your next trip to Dubai.
From the minute we arrived, the hotels struck a chord for all the right reasons; the impeccable service, the opulent surroundings and each and every one had incredible attention to detail.
The One and Only Royal Mirage
The One and Only Royal Mirage is a trio of three beautiful hotels, ‘The Arabian Court’, ‘The Residence’ and ‘The Palace’ set on over a kilometre of private beachfront overlooking the Palm Island Bay and set amidst 65 acres of landscaped gardens.
Arabian Court
We stayed in the Arabian Court. Decked-out in a traditional oriental style, this place was a serene and tranquil oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. All of the rooms here are sea-facing and you can walk out through the gardens down to the sea.
The Palace & The Residence
The Palace has an altogether more grand feel to it and The Residence has a more personal touch as it contains only 48 guest rooms, designed to feel more like a shared home and marketed as an intimate sanctuary. The whole resort had a very peaceful atmosphere and was a very relaxing place to stay.
From here there is also the option to get a speedboat transfer, yes, I said speedboat, transfer over to the One and Only - The Palm from the hotels private jetty. Definitely a must for some sun-downer cocktails!
Ritz Carlton Dubai
The Ritz Carlton is a great cosmopolitan choice. It contains a walkway with direct access to its own beach and includes child friendly pools and kids club making it a brilliant choice for families who still want to be amongst the action of the city.
Whilst here we had a beautiful lunch in their main restaurant, down by the beach. They came out with a huge fresh salad (which we thought was our main) and then came back out with fillet steak!
The whole feel of the Ritz Carlton was great; lots of different pool areas and public spaces leading down to the beach so it never felt too busy. Service here was impeccable. They truly can't do enough for you.
Also great for groups of friends, The Ritz Carlton is famous for its sun-downer drinks on the terrace, often used for hosting events with big names such as Ferrari. So whatever you're looking for, The Ritz Carlton will have something for you!
The Nikki Beach
My first impression of The Nikki Beach hotel; very modern, very contemporary and completely different to the other hotels I've seen in Dubai. The Nikki Beach has a stripped back feel to it; white and laid out in a Scandinavian style. This hotel is a minimal fuss and very modern in design.
The service here is more 'hands-off' and is aimed at an independent 'millennial' type audience. With the renting of cabanas and sunbeds readily available the Nikki Beach is infamous for its pool parties often costing more than £10,000!
Alongside the hotel runs a stunning stretch of private beach which is filled with pure white sand easily accessible from the main hotel. In my opinion, The Nikki Beach hotel is a great option for those who love to party as its very popular with groups of friends. While I wouldn't recommend this hotel for relaxation and tranquillity, I do think it's a great option for a laid back atmosphere with plenty of parties.
