The White Olive Marine Aquapark is rooted in a peaceful spot on Kos’ northern coast, a short drive from the capital city.

The pool scene’s the main draw here. You’ve got four options to dip in, including one with some waterslides, a wave pool and a number that’s just for grown-ups. If the sea’s calling you, the beach is right on your doorstep, too.

Tear yourself away from your sunbed and you’ll find that there’s plenty nearby that’s worth exploring. A 10-minute drive west can take you to a pair of restaurant-filled villages – Tingaki and Zipari. The same journey east, meanwhile, leads to the historic capital, Kos Town.

Food-wise, Nafsika’s the head honcho – it rolls out a buffet three times a day, and show-cooking stations are dotted around. For breakfast, there are pastries, pancakes, cereal and fresh fruit. Pool

Water babies have plenty of options here – there are four pools right in the middle of the resort. The Lotus pool’s a calm spot reserved for adults, the Olympus pool comes with five different slides, and the Poseidon Adventure Wave pool does exactly what it says on the tin. Kids get their own pool, which has two mushroom-shaped shower sprays. And the grown-ups can grab cocktails at the Kalypso bar. - 4 outdoor pools - There are four pools right in the middle of the resort.
