Opened in March 2021, the newest of Lake Como’s luxury hotels is located in the centre of the town, seven minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal, and features a beautifully renovated neo-classical villa overlooking the lake and a new, sensitively-designed building, set around gardens and a large swimming pool with extensive teak decking.

Whilst original features in the villa have been maintained such as ornate chandeliers and classical columns, these contrast beautifully with the contemporary furnishings and clever use of light in the 81 comfortable bedrooms. The poolside ‘Locanda di Don Abbondinio’ features gastronomic regional cuisine whilst the ‘1827 Restaurant’ offers casual dining in an elegant setting. The serene spa is one of the best in the region and has two pools. Hotel open 15 March - 26 October.
