Full Itinerary
Day 1-3 - London > Vancouver
Fly same day from London to relaxed and fashionable Vancouver; a friendly and welcoming city with so much variety to offer visitors. The capital of British Columbia is a safe, clean and refreshing place, with wide open green spaces, waterfront culture (including beaches), a vast array of wildlife-spotting opportunities as well as some exhilarating adventures close by; take a walk on the wild side in the treetops at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park or enjoy the “Fly Over Canada” virtual reality experience in the city centre. And if all of that doesn’t pique your interest, there is an extraordinary range of culinary options too, from street food galore in the trendy Granville Island public market, to high-end haute cuisine with real a passion for local produce from farm-to-table. Why not extend your stay or take a trip to Victoria - ask our Travel Specialists to help you if you'd like to enhance the trip one or more of the above. (Transfer from airport is not included, there is a local Sky Train from the airport to Downtown Vancouver, or we can arrange a private transfer for you).
Day 4 - All Aboard Rocky Mountaineer!
Rocky Mountaineer train - Vancouver to Kamloops: An included transfer from your hotel will take you to the station to board the navy-and-gold carriages of your chariot for the day. The atmosphere in the station is full of excitement as you wait for the train to whisk you away towards the famous Rocky Mountains. Leaving Vancouver you'll pass through the lushness of the Fraser Valley, past peaks and through canyons. Exquisite cuisine is prepared on board and either served at your seat in SilverLeaf, or in the separate restaurant level of the beautiful domed GoldLeaf carriages (depending which service you have booked). Whichever category of travel you choose, you will enjoy unrivalled views of these majestic mountains. Take in the rushing water of Hell's Gate and the steep rocky terrain as you follow the Thompson River towards Kamloops, a tiny city where you will be transferred to your hotel to spend the night (please note: all accommodation in Kamloops is of a "moderate" standard, whether travelling in Silver or GoldLeaf).
Day 5 - Rocky Mountaineer
Rocky Mountaineer train - Kamloops to Jasper: You'll be collected from your accommodation in Kamloops and taken back to the train to resume your journey further into the Rockies and the province of Alberta, where the scenery becomes all the more stunning. You’ll weave your way through more peaks and valleys of this dazzling region, with bald eagles sailing alongside you and, if you’re very lucky, (depending on the time of year) you might even spot a bear! Passing the highest peak in the Rockies - Mount Robson at almost 13,000ft tall and climbing over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park, you'll arrive into Jasper in the evening and be transferred to your hotel, where you will stay for two nights.
Day 6 - Jasper
You will have a free day to stretch your legs or perhaps take a coach trip to the Columbia Icefield (optional, supplement of £75 per person return coach transfers). The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle.
Day 7 - Jasper > Lake Louise
Today you will take a coach (which will collect from your hotel) to Lake Louise to spend the night. Whatever season you travel in Lake Louise is a beautiful sight - turquoise blue in the sun, or frozen solid and covered in snow like a perfect winter scene. (Note: 3-star hotel is not located lakeside - ask for details of lake-side hotel).
Day 8-9 - Lake Louise > Banff
Your coach will drop off at your hotel in Banff for two nights, a place which has activities for all - from taking the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain, relaxing in the Banff hot springs, exploring the bustling town, to outdoor wildlife adventures. Your free day here will allow you to choose how to spend your time to best suit you.
Day 10-11 - Return to the UK
You will board a coach transfer for the final time and make your way to the airport in Calgary in time for your overnight flight back to London.
