My Miles Morgan Travel journey actually begun on the other side of the desk: I booked a holiday in the Taunton branch! I was so taken with the lovely team and impressive service that as soon as a position became available, I jumped at the opportunity to work for this award-winning company. I certainly have no regrets – I’m loving my new role as Foreign Exchange Cashier and I feel really lucky to be involved in such an exciting industry. I enjoy talking to customers about the plans for their trips ahead and hear their stories when they return.

My favourite destination would have to be one of the Canary Islands. I’ve visited all of the main four islands, and I’ve had a fabulous time on every holiday I’ve taken there: the weather is always great through every season, and the blend of mountainous and coastal scenery makes for beautiful views. I tend to travel on a self-catering basis, or bed-and-breakfast, as I like to sample a range of culinary options in the area for my evening meal. There’s no better way to experience a new culture than to eat out in local, family-run restaurants after a day of exploring the sights! The Canary Islands certainly have many adventurous day-trips on offer, too: my most memorable highlight would be hiking up to the peak of Mount Teide after a wonderful, though slightly scary, cable-car ride. The summit of this active volcano is the highest point in Spain and the third highest volcano in the world! Reaching the summit was quite a moment.

I’ve also got a soft spot for Italy, and in particular, Rome and Venice. Both are stunning cities, with fantastic buildings everywhere you look and a new sight to behold each time you turn a corner. In Venice, of course, the legendary gondola rides are a must. The Italian cuisine is some of the most delicious I’ve ever had and both cities are perfect for a close-to-home adventure. They’re classic bucket-list destinations for a reason, and ones that every customer should tick off!
