All about Olivia

I am a 20 something year old who’s always had a love for travel since I was young (hopefully still am!). Starting with my aunty living in France and my uncle in Italy, I have been going abroad as a baby travelling to different parts of both countries. I feel like I have had a never-ending love affair with travel, and now I can finally say I have a job doing what I love most.

From doing travel and tourism in college to working in St Lucia and Antigua for Sandals as my placement year at university, then after graduating I became a wedding coordinator for Thomas Cook in Cyprus. I have managed to travel and experience many places that not many young people get to experience. Also having family and family friends living in both Canada and Ventura in California, gave me the chance to travel through Canada visiting Vancouver, Vancouver Island, moving on to white water rafting down Mount Whistler then onto Victoria.

Travelling at a young age to some incredible places such as Cancun in Mexico, travelling through New England, visiting New York, and going on holiday to both Antigua and St Lucia, made me want to pursue a career in travel where I can offer my knowledge and help others experience all of these wonderful places and more.

With such a vast variety of places I have visited, it is difficult to choose a favourite however, the one place that stands out the most to me is St Lucia. Living there for 5 months with 1 month in Antigua (getting stuck in those Hurricanes back in 2017!), gave me such an insight into their culture and way of life that I would not have been able to experience just by going on holiday.

The rich culture of St Lucia was so wonderful to live by, experiencing both Christmas and New Years, going to festivals and events and making the most of the time I had over there. The incredible natural landscapes and landmarks such as the Piton Mountains, Hot Water Springs and their beautiful waterfalls that are scattered around the island are a must when visiting St Lucia. It’s Harbourside with their open oven pizza restaurants right next to the water and the smell of freshly made pasta will make your mouths water as soon as you arrive.

Their Friday night street parties with St Lucian musicians and DJ’s and the most incredible homemade rum punches will most definitely get you in the mood for a boogie with the locals. Looking back now, it really was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never take for granted and that definitely made me grow into the person who I am today.
