All about Laura

I’m very excited to be starting my career as a Travel Specialist with Miles Morgan Travel. My journey in the travel industry begun in 2018, working as a Children’s Representative in holiday resorts overseas. I fell in love with the world of holidays and cannot wait to book customers onto the trips of their dreams, from the comfort of our Chepstow branch.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel abroad extensively through my career, and have lived in Lanzarote, Tenerife, Cyprus, Kos and even Lapland! I entirely immersed myself into the livelihoods of the locals in each destination and learned so much from their cultures.

Lapland is, without question, my favourite destination to have visited so far. I lived and worked in a picturesque little village called Äkäslompolo, Ylläs, surrounded by trees draped in snow and free-roaming reindeer! I set up home in a wooden cabin for the winter, and it was truly magical. Every day was jam-packed with fun, even as an adult working there! Meeting Santa for the first time was an unforgettable memory: inside a cosy cabin decorated lavishly for Christmas, with a warm open fire glowing, the smell of gingerbread that Mrs Claus had been making, and snow falling outside. It filled every imagination I’d had as a child! I’d recommend it to anyone, children or not. There’s so much to do, and it’s a perfect destination to visit for celebrating the festive season.

One of my most treasured travel moments was when I lived in Tenerife: I travelled up to Mount Teide by night! It’s the highest mountain in Spain, and it was quite a journey up, but the view of the sunset was unbelievable. I had a glass of Cava and waited for the sun to set completely before returning down, to have the bliss of stargazing from what felt like the top of the world. I’ll remember that moment for the rest of my life.

I’ve also been lucky enough to visit many destinations recreationally – in particular, I love a city break. Rome has to be the highlight, for me. I could barely take two steps without wanting to stop and absorb my surroundings: the history is so rich that it feels present, in the architecture and the streets I walked on. From the Colosseum to Trevi Fountain and St. Peter’s Basilica, there’s so much to see, do and learn about, that I could have spent much longer there. The restaurants and traditional coffee shops are bursting with life, delicious smells wafting by as you walk past, and the amount of stunning Vespas humming through the streets was obscene! My personal highlight was going for dinner one evening to a restaurant beside Trevi Fountain, surrounded by the bustling city at dusk, and eating the most delicious handmade pizza.

I look forward to seeing you soon in our Chepstow branch and making your dream holiday come true.
