Spain still has so much to offer as a holiday destination. Lively beach resorts, vibrant cities like Madrid and Barcelona and historic Andalucia to give just a few suggestions, and all just a short flight away from your local airport. Luxury hotels, boutique properties, private villas with their own pool or all inclusive family resorts, Spain really does have something for everybody.

For many people, Spain and her islands is still their favourite holiday destination for many reasons including the extensive flight schedule from Bristol, short travelling time, wonderful climate year round, stunning beaches and a home-from-home feel in many areas. Having visited one of the famous ‘Costas’, two of the Balearics and, further south, the Canaries, it’s easy to understand the allure. It’s important to remember though that there are many regions that stay untouched by tourism and remain authentically Spanish so you can have all afore-mentioned benefits but still enjoy an extremely rich and passionate culture. Food and wine are a natural obsession and, whether it be a tiny backstreet tapas bar or Michelin-starred restaurant, all bases are covered. With such diversity throughout the country, there really is something for everyone.

Ole! Sangria and tapas, sun and sea, Spain is a holiday destination that many Brits explore each year, and many return to the same hotel or area, but if you want to get to know the real Spain then call me to discuss touring options or just general information that will make your vacation special.

I have visited the Costa Del Sol on a few occasions, and also Alicante. Costa Del Sol can offer lots of different resorts depending on what you are looking for, but my favourite has to be Puerto Banus. A lovely town offering an impressive marina with even more impressive yachts! Also home to some great shopping, restaurants and bars overlooking the pretty marina. If you need any advice on typical Spanish restaurants in quaint little squares with cobbled streets in Alicante I can point you in the right direction.

I visited Puerto Banus for a birthday celebration with a group of my friends its definitely the place to come if you are looking for a varied and busy nightlife scene. The town is packed with alfresco bars, piano clubs and nightclubs which all keep going until dawn. Many of the boutique shops stay open during the summer months until midnight.

I have been very lucky to have visited and experienced some amazing places that include Iceland, where I saw the Northern Lights and went snowmobiling, horse riding in the Canadian Rockies, zip lining in St Lucia and sea kayaking with dolphins off the coast of Byron Bay, Australia. I even climbed the Sydney Harbour bridge (as you can tell I am a bit of an adrenalin junkie)! Visiting friends and relatives means Spain is a popular destination with many different types of tourist. My highlight is the Costa Blanca area of Javea, with its old-world charm as well as a vibrant harbour and beach area with great restaurants and nightlife. This area provide a more charming and relaxing alternative to its neighbor, Benidorm.

I have a few favourite Spanish cities. Madrid is so cosmopolitan and stylish with amazing plazas and palaces. Mijas is quaint and a visit to the bull ring is a must. Estapona was stylish and a bit rich for my pocket, but the markets and nightlife were great.
