After a wonderful two nights on board AmaKristina I am buzzing with excitement to tell you about my experience. Ama Waterways are no ordinary river cruise company. They have the highest rated ships in Europe and I will try and tell you why.

Ama Waterways are family owned and operated, as from the beginning it was the family’s goal to create a river cruise company that they themselves would enjoy. This meant excellent food and wine, comfortable and tasteful decor, lots of space to relax in, staterooms with maximum views to enjoy the ever-changing countryside and an abundance of excursions to really immerse everyone in the cultures of the countries they would visit.
But most importantly it was about creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that only happens when you have staff who love their jobs, who are passionate about first class service, and sharing their culture and knowledge with guests.
Take a moment to imagine yourself sat relaxed on your private balcony, gliding over the Danube, sipping a Wachau Valley Riesling from the delightful vineyard you visited earlier in the day. I think travel is about so much more than the destination!

The staterooms include white on white plush bedding, cotton bathrobes and slippers, while the suites include larger sitting areas and expansive bathrooms with both a shower and bathtub. There's entertainment on demand with complimentary high speed internet, movies, music library and TV.
The food is perfection, with multi course dinners and bountiful breakfast and lunch buffets. There's hand-selected complimentary red and white wines, and the Sip and Sail daily cocktail hour.
They put on expert guided shore excursions and special interest tours. And there's exercise classes in the gym and a sun deck pool if you fancy burning off some of the calories from the sumptuous cuisine!
