All about Immy

I have been in the travel industry 8 years prior to my role here at Miles Morgan. These were spent as Cabin Crew enjoying short and long haul destinations. When I left my role as Cabin Crew for a more "normal routine life" 2 years ago I joined the NHS as a Medical Secretary, and until recently helped with the Covid and flu vaccination programme at local vaccination centres.

The travel industry is a funny thing once you have been part of it, there is no other industry in the world quite like it. So I found myself wanting to join it again, but a bit more closer to home to have routine in my life without the 2am alarms! Now I am happily working in my local Wells branch with the loveliest team!

The world is a truly fascinating and beautiful place and I have been very fortunate to visit many places along my life journey so far! I have a friend who is Sri Lankan, when I was at Primary School my school set up a pen pal project with her school in Sri Lanka to help the pupils with their English skills,as one of our teaching assistants would go over to help them in half terms...well over 20 years later we are still in touch, and I have managed to visit her 3 times! Sri Lanka really is the most beautiful country I have ever visited. The people are so loving, the food is incredible and the weather...well it's hot!! My friend is Buddhist so we visit many Temples when I am there and these trips bring me such peace and calmness it's wonderful. Temple of the Tooth in Kandy is a real favourite of mine. I have climbed Sigiriya Rock in the most humid temperature I have ever experienced (not fringe friendly!!), but it really is my favourite place in the world just the most beautiful, loving, curious country I highly recommend Sri Lanka.

Another country I visited but through my job as Cabin Crew was Cuba. This was never on my travel bucket list but oh my goodness it blew my mind! It was spectacular, the beaches were gorgeous I have never seen the sea so clear! The cars, the culture, it all just was such a wow moment. We used to visit Cuba after flying into the Dominican Republic which again was a beautiful destination. We would take a small private aircraft over to Varadero in Cuba via Holguin and it was just the best trip so much culture!

My family's favourite destination is Lake Garda. We have visited numerous times and fall more in love with it every time! We tend to stay on the south east coast in Lazise which is a picture perfect town with the most scrumptious ice cream I have ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of ice cream!!). Sirmione is a gorgeous town and a real must when visiting the area we tend to visit many times during our trip both in the day and in the evening. Lake Garda is a place we find as a family we can unwind, switch off and enjoy the Italian life and scenery, I will be going back yearly for a very long time I'm sure! We have also visiting Sorrento and Pisa as a family both of which I absolutely loved and to visit the home of pizza Naples was a huge tick off my food bucket list!

On a more colder note 2 years ago I visitied Vienna for a long weekend to enjoy the Christmas markets and they did not disappoint!! Viennese whirls the size of my hands!! History, food, Christmas, honestly Vienna had it all we had such a great time and the markets offered something for everyone. From visiting friends in Germany to work trips to Florida with am empty suitcase (it is more than full when I return with my shopping delights!), I am so lucky to have visited so many places, I cannot wait to be able to do so once more and grow as a person from more cultural experiences.

Recently in October I travelled to Scotland for my minimoon! We are regular travellers to Scotland and just wanted a break to relax after our wedding before doing a proper honeymoon next year. We based ourselves just outside Fort William, but managed to visit Isle of Mull (beautiful island!) and Skye as well as Glencoe, Cairngorns National Park, Glenfinnan and my husband's favourite part, the road to Loch Etive also know as Skyfall road! The colours this time of year were out of this world. Everywhere was oranges, reds, it was really magical I will definitely visit Scotland in the autumn again.
