All about Mandy

I’ve worked in the travel industry for over thirty years now, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve gained extensive experience in short- and long-haul travel as well as cruises and tours, and I’ve built a loyal customer base in that time, with many returning every year to book their perfect holidays. I pride myself on always being available for my customers to offer support and care before, during and after their travels, and providing the high-quality customer service that Miles Morgan Travel strives for.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world, visiting places as far-flung as South Africa and America, as well as beautiful spots closer to home. My favourite destination, though, is undoubtedly Canada. It’s a country with dramatic contrast in landscape, from the breathtaking Rocky Mountains to the bustling, animated cities of Toronto and Montreal. Though the flight is long, Canada’s unique diversity offers something for everyone, and there are so many fantastic types of holiday on offer: tours, city breaks, cruises up the east coast, or even ski trips. I’d love to go back, and I’m always excited to book customers on a Canadian adventure!

Closer to home, I love the beautiful island of Madeira. The scenery is so beautiful, the weather is fabulous in summer, and Funchal is a lovely capital city. I visited Reid’s Palace, an iconic century-old hotel set in the Madeiran cliffs, and enjoyed a glorious afternoon tea there, with views of the Atlantic Ocean. It was so tranquil: I couldn’t recommend it more. I’ve also had a wonderful time over the years escorting customers, young and old, to Lapland, to experience its festive magic. Reindeer- and husky- rides beneath the Northern Lights have been some of my most cherished travel memories, as well as meeting Santa Claus himself, of course! It’s truly spectacular, and a real bucket-list destination. I’ll certainly never forget my times there.

In terms of cruising, I’ve been lucky enough to have sampled and explored many different great cruise lines and have discovered the vast diversity in what each has to offer. For customers who haven’t sailed before, or are in search of something different, I love to offer my knowledge to help decide which itineraries, ships, and style of cruising is best-suited. Recently, I travelled onboard a beautiful tall-ship with Star Clipper: a brilliant experience, and very different from traditional cruise-liners. I was offered the opportunity to climb all the way up to the crows’ nest! It was terrifying, but very exhilarating.

When I’m not in the Abergavenny branch of Miles Morgan Travel, I’m usually found on my family farm, alongside my husband and son. We farm cattle, sheep and crops but my real passion is my small herd of pedigree saddleback pigs. The Royal Welsh Show is a great event every year that I always attend, and Miles Morgan Travel customers often come and visit, which is so lovely. If you go next year, please feel free to come and say hello – I’ll be either in the pig tent or showing my herd in the ring! I’d love to see you there.

Please drop into the Abergavenny branch or call to make an appointment about your next holiday. I can’t wait to help you choose your next big adventure!
