The Algarve and the Sheraton Hotel were a pleasant surprise . The golfing available was first class and the amenities and food at the hotels were second to none.

Take a two-hour flight from Bristol and you can be relaxing on some of the best beaches in Europe. The Algarve has miles of beautiful sandy beaches and coves with a whole variety of hotels and apartments. It is also famous for an abundance of internationally-renowned golf courses. Portugal is not just about beaches, Lisbon and Porto are fascinating cities to explore.

The old-fashioned village life with simple but delicious meals and the stunning views along the coast are what keeps me going back to Portugal. You can explore castles or just relax on one of the many beaches. There are endless possibilities in this small but captivating country, so why not let me create a wonderful holiday for you.

Mainland Portugal is fairly compact allowing visitors to easily enjoy the spectacular coasts, fantastic beaches and stunning river valleys as well as the lush hillsides and mountains, all within one holiday. There are the historic cities of Lisbon - entertaining by both day and night, and Porto - a hidden delight with a wonderful mix of architectural styles as well as lively squares. The Douro Valley is a region in the north of Portugal with vineyard terraces, olive groves and verdant vegetation cascading down the hillside. The Algarve, stretching for 100 miles along the southern coast of Portugal, offers glorious year round sunshine, countless sandy beaches, unspoilt old fashioned villages and not to mention an abundance of internationally renowned golf courses.

I recommend visiting Lisbon for a wonderful short break. With convenient flights from Bristol, Portugal is a great year-round destination. Lisbon has lots of sightseeing to offer or you can just sit back and watch the world go by in one of the many cafes and restaurants. Try combining it with a stay at the 5* Grande Real Villa Italia in Cascais. Its location is perfect for enjoying the attractive town and marina area . The Algarve is another part of Portugal that I love. The combination of wonderful beaches, friendly people and delicious seafood restaurants make this a destination that I am always happy to return to.

An 'all year round' destination, the Algarve is home to breathtaking cliffs, beautiful sandy beaches and is also one of my favorite places to eat fish! A typical meal on Algarve's coast is grilled sardines which is served with regional salad. Fish is so fresh here that you can actually watch the fisherman hall their nets onto the sand before it arrives on your plate! Venture to the west side of the Algarve, where it is less developed, for lovely walks and protected nature reserves, as well as Europe's most southwesterly point, Cabo de Sao Vicente, where you will find fabulous views and spectacular sunsets.

I have been to the Algarve twice and really enjoy the lovely beach resorts and sandy coves. If you like golf then this is definitely the place for you - there are some fantastic golf courses. Vilamoura is a very pretty resort with restaurants around the harbourside and a lovely beach. To find out more about the Algarve please give me a call.
