Al-Qahirah in Arabic, which means ‘The Triumphant’. The City was founded in 969 AD. It is the administrative capital of Egypt with a population of more than 16 million; almost one-third the country’s total population. Lively – Cairo is a city that never stops! It is a city of huge contrast between old and modern. A city that offers a full combination of Egyptian history: the pyramids as well as the treasures of the Egyptian museum stand for the Pharaonic period; the suspended church and its famous Coptic-Christian icons; the Saladin citadel which is an example of the most beautiful Islamic architecture and finally the modern touch of the Cairo tower. The vibrancy of Khan El-Khalili bazaar is something not to be missed, from the essence of the spice shops to the amazing handicrafts. The bazaar is not only a place for shopping but a tour on foot around it offers a real taste of Cairo. Hotel Packages
