Full Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Amman
Fly from London (regional connections available) to Amman with Royal Jordanian Airlines. Transfer to the Amman International Hotel for 3 nights. (N)
Day 2: Amman • Salt
Morning tour of Amman, visiting the citadel and the Jordan Museum, which contains a copper replica of the renowned Dead Sea Scrolls. Afternoon tour to the ancient town of Salt to admire its architecture and visit the small archaeological museum before returning to your hotel in Amman. Welcome dinner at Kan Zaman, an impressive 19th-century estate. (B, D)
Day 3: Jerash • Umm Qais
Morning tour of Jerash, one of the bestpreserved Roman provincial towns in the world. Continue to the ruins of Umm Qais where, according to the Bible, Jesus performed the miracle of casting demons from two men into a herd of pigs. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the impressive Jordan valley and the Sea of Galilee, the site combines Roman ruins and an abandoned Ottoman-era village. View colonnaded streets, a vaulted terrace and the ruins of two theatres. Return to Amman. (B)
Day 4: Madaba • Mount Nebo • Dead Sea • Petra
Travel along the King’s Highway, visiting Madaba and its Byzantine mosaic map of the region and Mount Nebo, from where Moses first viewed the Holy Land. A stop will also be made at the Dead Sea for a dip in the healthgiving salty waters. Continue to Petra and dine this evening at Petra Kitchen, a traditional Jordanian experience. Stay 2 nights at the Petra Guest House*. (B, D)
Day 5: Petra
Take a guided walking tour of Petra, the rosered city rediscovered by JL Burckhardt in 1812. The highlights are the spectacular temple, the Treasury and the Monastery, which have been carved out of solid rock. This evening, see the ruins of Petra by candlelight. (B)
Day 6: Wadi Rum • Aqaba
This morning, join a hands-on bread making and tasting experience before proceeding to Wadi Rum for a 4x4 excursion into the desert. Continue to Aqaba and stay 2 nights at the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay. (B)
Day 7: Aqaba
Day at leisure to enjoy the beaches or explore the markets and ancient sites of Aqaba. Farewell dinner this evening at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 8: Amman • Fly to London
Transfer to Amman airport and fly to London with Royal Jordanian Airlines. (B)
