Hotel Catullo - Sirmione

Overview

Since it first opened its doors in 1888, Hotel Catullo on the shore of Sirmione has been frequented by celebrities and royals alike and has become a staple of Lake Garda's history. It has garnered fame not simply through its longevity but through its reputation for stellar service and family hospitality courtesy of Fabio and his wonderful team. The Catullo is a wonderful mix of new and old world decor with classically designed rooms, each different from the next and featuring antique painted furniture yet with all the modern amenities you could want during your stay. The warm peach tones of the buildings' exterior protrude out onto the waterfront with verdant gardens you would perhaps be surprised to see in the centre of a town as well as a private lakeside jetty with sun loungers and parasols for those who want to take a slower pace and enjoy the sunshine before taking a dip in the lake.

Facilities

Facilities

The onsite restaurant at the Hotel Catullo like the rest of the property is full of character with a decorative mix of vintage paintings, quirky statues and trinkets. Breakfast is served every morning in the dining room with continental and hot options to choose from all incorporating local produce where possible.

Dinner is four courses with a selection of each and pulls influence from both the north and south of Italy. Fresh fish dishes with ragu, gnocci and fantastic antipasto platters. Be sure to make room for dessert which can range from sumptuous panna cotta to rich and creamy canolli.

The bar in the same location opens up onto the verdant garden and offers the perfect setting to watch the sun set over the trees and listen to the water lapping at the lake shore.
