Ideally located in the heart of Ellmau, the Alte Post is an excellent choice for guests seeking a traditional, homely hotel full of Tyrolean character. The garden and terrace is a lovely spot to enjoy the village brass band from each Wednesday evening.

Ellmau is a pretty village located between the rolling green slopes of the Kitzbüheler Alps and the craggy Wilder Kaiser (Wild Emperor) mountains. With a strong farming history, it it still full of local character and tradition. Set mid-way between Innsbruck and Salzburg, Ellmau is an ideal starting point for many excursions. Swimming is available at the fabulous Kaiserbad local pool or the bathing lake in nearby Going. Further activities such as mountain biking, golf, tennis and horse riding can also be enjoyed.

Ellmau is a pretty village located between the rolling green slopes of the Kitzbüheler Alps and the craggy Wilder Kaiser (Wild Emperor) mountains. With a strong farming history, it it still full of local character and tradition. A ride on Austria’s longest mountain cable railway, the ‘Hartkaiserbahn’, is a must. It ascends to the top of the Hartkaiser mountain (1,654m) from which there are superb views of the Wild Emperor range.
