Hamilton Island has its own airport so is easily reached from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns. Alternatively hop on a ferry from Shute Harbour, close to Airlie Beach, for the short 30-minute crossing.

The island offers such a wide choice of activities that you might find it difficult to leave, even just for the day. However its perfect location provides the ideal launching pad for discovering the delights of the Great Barrier Reef and the spectacular Whitehaven Beach, consistently voted one of the best beaches in the world.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive on Hamilton Island

Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Reef View Hotel for your three-night stay. The hotel is centrally located on the island and just a two-minute stroll from the beach. The resort centre, with its numerous bars and restaurants set on a stunning marina, is a ten-minute walk away. Alternatively hop on the complimentary shuttle bus. The hotel itself has many amenities including a 35-metre swimming pool.

Day 2: Great Barrier Reef Cruise

Today experience the world's largest living structure on a spectacular cruise to the Great Barrier Reef. The reef i home to the world's most diverse plant and animal life, including soft and hard corals, hundreds of species of fish, turtles and visiting dolphins and whales. The innovative pontoon gives you the chance to enjoy a wide range of activities, both in and out of the water. Explore the easy to follow snorkelling trails or take a guided snorkelling tour with an experienced reef guide. If you don't want to get wet, tour the reef aboard a semi-submersible or be intrigued by the fish-life from the underwater observatory.

Day 3: Whitehaven Beach

On the eastern side of the uninhabited Whitsunday Island see nature at its unspoiled, spectacular best. Magical Whitehaven Beach is considered one of the top ten beaches in the world, with seven kilometres of glistening pure white sand. Enjoy a superb buffet lunch before heading to the shore where you can choose to join in the beach games, take a leisurely stroll, swim in the crystal-clear waters or just lie in the sun with a good book.

Day 4: Depart Hamilton Island

Transfer the airport for your onward arrangements, extend your stay or hop over to the laid back resorts of Port Douglas, Cairns or Palm Cove.
